  8. I need to replace my bottom bracket on my Specialized Epic - on the spec sheet it says the BB is a Shimano M762 XT custom for Specialized - what part can I look to replace this part as I cannot seem to find this exact part? Would fitting an LX component be downgrading the bike specs? Cheers
  9. Forking meetings! Did not make it through - glad to see there were some pics from there. It looks like some fun was had. If only half of it was open - double the fun would presumably happen when the other half opens!!!
  10. ... but I do not think I have been a good of enough boy this year!
  11. I greet most people I pass - and by and large get greeted by most! I do go over the top and greet most roadies exuberantly - just cause I know that most of them do not greet back, it gives me a kick! Why is that?

  13. Try this: Start > Run > cmd > ENTER type: "ping thehubsa.co.za" right-click > Mark Select the I.P. Address > Right-click Open IE Press CTRL+V > ENTER The page may not load all the way, but you should be able to log in. Or try: Open IE Type in address bar: "https://www.vtunnel.com" Type in search box: "https://www.bikehub.co.za" This uses the secure network on V Tunnel (a proxy server)
  14. Maybe I should rephrase the question.... When I do not have time to do the 3-6 hour rides (outside the 2-3 times a week and 1-2 times on weekends) I ride to and from work , which can take between 30 mins and 1 hour depending on the route I take. For these rides is it best to try out interval type rides or stick to HR based training? High week on polar trainer this week - 18hrs - so hopefully I am doing some good!
  15. Hence me asking the question................
  16. Currently I am doing my hours for Epic - so doing the usual long slow heart rate training. My question is: - if I only have a limited time in a session, say 30mins - 1 hr - do I still do the slow heart rate training or would the time be better spent doing higher HR interval type training? If so what interval training would be best to fit into my training programme? Bearing in mind the goal of the Epic in mind... Thanks
  17. I would not be surprised if some of the local bike shops have snapped up all this stuff - and charged us with the "new" inflated prices.... Managed to get all the stuff I wanted Thanks for the link....
  18. OK - so I am now looking for statistical significance in sample sizes! Sorry missed that this had been done before...

  21. Specialized Factory Racing Adds Firepower Specialized is proud to announce the addition of two of mountain bike racing's most prominent riders to its factory racing program, Burry Stander and Todd Wells. The riders join one of the longest-running and most successful racing teams in the sport's history, with a roster that includes reigning UCI cross-country world champion, Christoph Sauser, and Norway's Lene Byberg, with leadership from the legendary Ned Overend. The men's squad will compete on the Epic model, the only full-suspension bike to win XC Worlds. Lene will race on the Era with its geometry, frame layup, suspension, and components specifically tailored to competitive cross-country women riders. Both bikes feature patented FSR and Brain technology, providing unparalleled control and efficiency in the widest range of conditions.
  22. I just got a mail from Specialized saying that Burry will be joining the Specialized team next year....
