    RIFLE

thanks for all the advice guys I want something that will hit a gong out to say 700m easily and that with effort could go out to 1000m, although in CT there aren't many ranges beyond 500m The 260 is an option i hadn't thought of but might be worth looking into. The 308 could also work. I wish I had the money for a 338

If you could buy only one rifle for precision range shooting and maybe long range hunting which caliber would it be? I don’t have loads of cash so I’ll probably only realistically be able to get one more rifle in the collection. I have a 270 for hunting and a .22 for playing around. Would like to get into the precision shooting scene and maybe do one or two competitions. I’m torn between a few calibers. The 6.5 creedmore, 7mm or 300. I would need something that has a longish barrel life and also isn’t super expensive to reload ammo. Range shooting would take preference over hunting capability. Your input would be appreciated.
  4. went on now but i can only get my form if i'm immigrating or deceased or insolvent estate

    RIFLE

after taking off skin, head, insides and legs my kudu came to 66kgs - 16kgs of this ended up as bone that we'll have to cook up for soup maybe. So 50kgs of steak, goulash, mince, wors etc

    RIFLE

so i did my first hunt over the past week end. 2 springbok and a kudu. Not the biggest male kudu but we'll see how much meat we get. Was a great experience and looking forward to the next one. The shots were fairly straight forward but i did walk 25km on the first day before I got something so I earned the easier shots. also going to drop my powder load a bit as I'm struggling with jammed cartridges after firing them and I suspect the pressure if too high

hunting question How much meat would one get from an average female kudu after the insides, skin, head and legs are cut off. How much meat is actually left to be able to cook?
  12. agreed, there is no physical way this can be a 201 model. Unless it's launched after 1 jan 2021 it will remain a 2020 model no matter what they say. Like cars and everything else manufacturers release the year before.

would love a chassis system gumi but can't spend that kind of money. I'm really trying my luck for a cheap cheap secondhand wooden chassis for now.

Honestly I just don't like the synthetic stock look and feel. And i believe you cant seat the action and barrel just better in the wood

    RIFLE

me again. I would love to put a traditional wooden stock on my howa 1500 270 long action. Does anyone have recommendations on where i could find one, even if it's a old one that needs some love and care. Thanks

so I've typed up a motivation based on previous motivations and what everyone has recommended. I have had someone else check it but would anyone here be willing to quickly read through it and let me know what they think? Please pm your email and I can send it through

    RIFLE

so I've done some research and got some new photos. Turns out it's french from a company called Unique. The company was bought over early 2000 I think so this is an earlier model, pre 2000 possibly. It's the Unique Audax model and I've seen them going for 4 times what I can this one for, and not all of them have scope. So I'm quite excited about this find. It's in great condition. The stock looks almost dirty in the pictures but in reality it's clean. The scope rings just need a clean. Can't wait until lockdown is lowered

    RIFLE

I need some help. I've been looking at a .22 rifle and trying to find more information on. It's called a unique. I think it's swiss or german made. Beautiful rifle, lovely wooden stock, trigger has had some work. BSA scope, threaded barrel. All for a great price. I'm waiting for pictures of the name on the rifle but I've goggled and have come across "unique alpine" firearms: https://www.unique-alpine.com/en/products/hunting But this particular rifle is maybe a bit older. Does anyone recognise this perhaps? But I'll have to wait until after lockdown to buy it, which will be super frustrating but something to look forward to I guess
