    What Barry said...The Kanadia 8's are affordable, good quality for the occasional bush-bash. Your run of the mill road shoe doesn't have a strong enough under fore foot, so you'll get poked and prodded by little stones jutting up. Also the "side walls" are broader giving more foot stability.

    That's right, he also changed the deck layout so he could wedge himself between a deck-pod and the gunwales so he could sleep without falling off the boat. I have a picture of the boat the morning after he arrived in Richards Bay with sails sill hanging off the boom un-stowed, will scan and post. Best of all, he grew up in the Free State!!!

    I just purchased a pair (within the last 10 minutes) from www.adidas.co.za for R999... Edit: they have a sale on some of their shoes at really great prices right now Edit2: if for some reason you do find the adidas Raven Boosts at a good price, rather give it a skip, probably the worst pair of trail shoes I've ever owned, tight, narrow and hard, should've trusted the reviews

    I had my first pain free run last night since middle of March this year, man I'm so happy! I've been suffering with piriformus syndrome, probably well before March but had it misdiagnosed as lower back pain somewhere between L1 and L4 for some time. It only really manifested itself and got correctly diagnosed when the piriformus muscle started overtaking on the pain scale from other muscles. I have had so much discomfort during and after runs and from what I've read I'm quite lucky to have shown improvement in such a short time. Well the recovery is on the up and up so I can start thinking about faster and definitely longer runs before year end.

    I'm normally an 8. I did go to TotalSports fitted a pair before buying. So you can safely go on your foot size. As a matter of interest, my foot is 257mm long, size 8 table is for a foot 265mm long. So they fit me nicely. In previous years I could not fit Adidas as they were made quite a bit narrower, though on these I found them just perfect.

    I received a pair from takealot yesterday and took them for a spin last night, sublime. - I have wide feet and the 8's fit just fine - right foot is marginally bigger than left foot and these shoes just fit so damn good out the box. I'm an ex-NB fanboy, but I have been impressed with the adidas Supernova's. Sure I haven't done plenty miles yet, but initial results are good and the number of runners in our club using them says a lot.
