  1. Piet Botha was the man, I attended many of his shows, shared a drink and some conversation with him at a show he did here long time ago. He was down to earth, a true rocker of old that stayed the course! One of the few South Africans that released albums which could be listened to from track one till the last one!
  2. LOL... best chirp about the Soutie gibe recently is the one where the guy replies, you Afrikaans okes flippen put everything in your mouths!
  3. Soutie refers to the derogatory term Soutpiel. That word originated in the 2nd Anglo Boer War due to England's persistance in trying to colonise every nation. They were seen standing with one foot in Africa, the other in England and their dick's/piele hanging in the water, hense Soutpiel and later Soutie.
  4. No 8 ryskaaf ! Pragtig gedoen! I was a skinny kid all my life till I discovered beer, but before then our woodwork teacher used to have quite a laugh when it was my turn to plane the long plants with the No7 or 8. I had to set the depth so shallow to get it going and then had to work hard to get to the line. Now, I can thourgh it around like a champ.
  5. Pau Marfin - yellowwood substitute which worked really nicely. PS: I had to google the spelling, I also always thought "parmafin" was the right spelling.
  6. I notice the comic sans, but when the shoulder is buggered, floating toast is the only other means of finding stoke, then flat we go!
  7. What a stunning human he is!
  8. Gisteraand loop daai Boschendal Lanoy soos stroop!
  9. Statement based on current financial status
  10. only beaten by stinhout for finishing, though that previlage won't be seen again, unless I can find an old dresser in poor state
  11. Ask us again tomorrow night!
  12. 30 years ago kids that age could hardlly ride a bike!
  13. My woodworking has been limited to concrete form work and whittling sticks lately
  14. I like that and you used engineering 101 principle "thicker is better" unless you build an aeroplane. You could also probably lower it by at least 300mm's reducing the load, but other than that its perfect
  15. He's missing his beer, be kind
  16. I have a supplier in Hluhluwe that does a Nyala wors with skaapvet. I'm yet to taste a better venison wors. Are you partial to venison liver? - My favourites are again Nyala liver on the fire - Second favourite is Impala, neat and when i feel extravagant wrapped in streaky bacon
  17. Howick Preperatory School in KZN has a lightning detection system they employ for safe sports. You should speak to them if you're truly interested in something that works. They have 40km sensitivity on their system. Works perfect from my experiences driving there for sport only to have the siren wailing and having to head home again

    Who remembers?

Must've been the best selling TV is South Africa at the time, that model and the one without the pedastal. I remember my brother being the remote control for a time till he started pulling rank on me and that became my job

    Alcohol Ban

Fact! The only person i know that drinks any brandy straight is the fat guy on Whats-Ap that downed a litre of Klipdrift through a piece of hose pipe, under a tree in his back yard and Chris Edwards from Egoli.
  20. Gen, here's the humane solution... Accept the fact that they are doing good (which they are), go out every morning and rake the hills flat across the lawn. If it becomes unbearable get the exterminators in.
  21. As MudLark states, not how it should be cleaned. Many moons ago when bike shops sold helmets they always told you, "if you drop it on the floor it's done it's work, consider replacing it." Many little bumps with the other stuff in the machine is not good
  22. I rectified the route accordingly
  23. From Maputo, head to Goba Fronteira (that will be along the EN2 towards Komatipoort, then take the EN3 left to Goba Fronteira). It's a stiff climb out off the plains onto the Lebombo's. You'll cross into Eswatini via the Mhlumeni Border Post. Once in Eswatini you'll head south down the MR7 to Siteki and then later link up with the MR16 to Big Bend where you'll pick up the MR8 to Lavumisa Border Post (RSA side is called Golela) That'll be your route through Eswatini. You'll then connect from Golela to the N2 where you'll turn left and head south Anything else, let me know Roads: Mozambique - above route, not too bad, some trucks Eswatini - also not too bad, people of Eswatini are chill so roads a re way safer than elswhere. N2 - broad emergency lane mostly, however, it's heavily used as a second lane all the way to Durban Second edit: I notice you say Bots Then same route to Mhlumeni Border Post Then MR7 to Siteki, MR16 to link with MR3 MR3 to Manzini MR3 Manzini to Mbabane MR3 Mbabane to Oshoek Border Post You better pack you're climbing legs for this route, some monster climbs from Manzini all the way to Oshoek!
  24. I'm sure that Bakfiets is electrically supported, if not he's a machine!
