  1. Currently only the selected Photos of the day are shown. We are considering how all submissions could be visible either during the month of submission or revealed at the end of the month. Perhaps there is room to expand selection to any photo submitted to the Gallery in various categories, e.g. local events. etc. We're open to feedback and suggestions. It will be a long running feature and we'd like to ensure it best serves the community. The Photo's of the day are primarily featured in the 'Photo of the day' section (via the main menu tab). We will begin posting them in this thread as well so people can follow that way. The reason for this is so that submitted photos can be syndicated via Twitter and Facebook used in the adverts promoting the competition. E.g. in adverts like the below we'll use a 'Photo of the day' entry in place of the current image. We can amend the terms to be explicit in this regard and limit the usage rights.
  2. Recently crowned U23 African cross-country champion James Reid showed his continental class when he soloed to victory in the 80km Extreme mountain bike challenge at The Herald VW Cycle Tour in Addo on Saturday. Click here to view the article
  3. South African road cycling teams are starting the 2014 season with a bang as they prepare for the second major race of the year, The Herald VW Cycle Tour, which takes place in Port Elizabeth on 2 February. Click here to view the article
  4. As per the article linked in the OP: To start things off all submissions from these last few days in Jan plus all those in Feb will be eligible for 'Photo of the day'.
  5. As long as there's a human-powered wheeled steed in frame we'll consider it
  6. It's open to any camera or device. Preferably not hand drawn though
  7. Topic Closed Since the seller in this case is a minor operating without consent the deal is void. In this case the buyer should be refunded (as has been suggested). We'll disable the seller's account and take steps to offer more protection to buyers & sellers in terms of potential transactions with minors going forward. @ the Buyer: please contact me via PM or email should you wish to discuss the matter further.
  8. Think this was him ripping on a practice run...
  9. The results were directly from Cycling SA with the full sheet here: http://www.cyclingsa.com/App_Resources/Uploads/FILE00003127.pdf Perhaps they've been updated / corrected since the press release. Where did you see Rika's result? (I saw her flying down during practice runs and wondered why she wasn't on the results list)
  10. Hi I've banned the user and will keep a lookout. Please hit the report button on any PM like this.
  11. Hi guys, Apologies for the downtime and forced work We had some issues this morning. Not the servers themselves, but a load balancer in the network was faulty. It has been resolved and the tech team are doing some investigation to find the cause. Matt
  12. Eldron, can I suggest we add the web address to your topic title? This way those searching via Google are likely to see this before getting caught. I think there's no doubt it's a scam site. As you say it follows the format used by others like 'http://randombikesworld.wozaonline.co.za/' which has since been removed.
  13. Swiss marathon specialist, Urs Huber (Team Bulls), shattered the course record on his way to winning the Fairview Attakwas Extreme mountain bike marathon near Oudtshoorn, South Africa on Saturday. Click here to view the article
  14. While there's already a long-running e-toll thread there is value in keeping this separate given it could directly affect many cyclists with similar bike racks. For general E-toll discussion refer to the existing thread: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/133515-e-tolls-coming-3-december-2013-will-you-buy-a-tag/
  15. I'm not suggesting we avoid the facts, I.e. The race of the perpetrators, as pointed out this is a valid question and piece of information when reporting a crime. However a number of racist and offensive comments ensued after this question was posed. Ask the question, get all the facts, but do not post racist comments. It's quite simple. @no hare your sarcastic remarks are unnecessary
  16. Racist and other offensive comments have been removed. State the facts by all means, but such comments will result in an account suspension.
  17. The chamois is really good quality. Both the top and bib are their performance line. The range goes: Active -> Performance -> Elite The local Craft guys explained to me that each year the chamois tech from the Elite level bib gets used in the Performance level bib. So the 2013 Performance bibs have the 2012 Elite chamois. So you're getting a top level chamois for a reasonable price. These typically retail for around R1000.
  18. No baggies just yet, but looking into suppliers and hope to have some MTB/FR gear early next year.

  20. As suggested by 'dale please post this on the user's trader feedback page: https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&section=traders&do=add_feedback This way it is made more apparent to users who do not frequent the forums. No calves - ease up on the personal attacks. Next time the warning will not be a polite one.
  21. Moderation note We've received a number of reports from various members involved in this topic. While they are worked through I'd suggest having a read through our forum rules and pay particular attention to those below. The constant bickering across topics, baiting, personal attacks, etc. have become beyond tiresome. Numerous warnings and suspensions have been issued already and more will follow. Cut it out or you'll need to find a another playground! https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum/?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules We welcome debate and dissent, but personal attacks (on members or any individual), persistent trolling and mindless abuse will not be tolerated. We will not tolerate foul language and swearing. We will not tolerate any swearing or otherwise foul language. Any attempts to such language in a veiled / obscure manner to avoid bad-word filters or moderation will result in a warning / suspension. We reserve the right to redirect or curtail conversations which descend into flame-wars based on ingrained partisanship or generalisations. We don't want to stop people discussing topics they are enthusiastic about, but we do ask users to find ways of sharing their views that do not feel divisive, threatening or toxic to others. Duplicate accounts are not allowed. With the exception of members who have separate business / brand and personal profiles any member found to use duplicate profiles with the intent to cause trouble, evade negative ratings or troll will receive an immediate permanent suspension.
  22. A number of off topic posts were removed, those quoting removed posts were also removed to preserve conversation flow.
  23. Topic Closed We gave this one a chance, but it's descended into a ream of personal attacks as expected.
  24. Topic closed - both topics have been discussed at length in existing threads For Import duties discussion see the existing thread in the Online Shopping forum: http://www.thehubsa....-cycling-goods/ For Lance discussion see the long running thread on the issue: http://www.thehubsa....-of-tdf-titles/
