  1. I'm selling my 2012 Spez Epic Expert large for under R30k. Got ZTR rims, XO grip shift. Been well used but well serviced/maintained by Spez dealer. Will post add in classifieds on Tuesday.
  2. If I was in your position I would sign up at Cadence Cycling Centre in Four Ways. Great way to get max training out of min time. Two high intensity sessions per week (Cadence classes), two tempo sessions per week (1 hour each at 75% of max heart rate) and a long ride on your bike over the weekend. I am no coach but have tried this approach and it worked for me. For professional advise call Mark Carroll on 0317672911, he owns Cadence and is a qualified coach - good luck!!
  3. lets all be happy, it is Friday and we get to rides our bikes tomorrow.
  4. not yet, hoping there will be other options??
  5. Pieterg, I'm with you on this one. That was one tough event. The days that were supposed to be slightly easier were not due to weather conditions - stage 2 rain, stage 3 wind. Hey, that's what makes it the Epic. Would not be worth all the time and money if it was easy. Well done on finishing!
  6. The case of taxi driver Njabulo Nyawose, accused of killing Burry, is due to take place today. Lets hope justice is served and a strong message is sent to all dangerous drivers out there. iride4burry
  7. 2012 Epic Expert, Fast Track Control's. XT pedals and S-Works shoes - 1st Epic
  8. it is impossible to get any work done, Epic is consuming every thought. Suppose this is what happens to first timers.
  9. we are off at 0802, no 177. Wearing Dion Wired kit. All the best for the last stretch! Hope I don't hold you up on the technical stuff
  10. Start times are up, under rider profiles on the Epic website. Reality is setting in....
  11. just sent my bike in for its major service prior to Epic. Getting everything done, strip down, rebuild, new valves, cables, brake service, bearings and tyres. Elected to stay with Fast Track Control's, will these manage the hectic Western Cape terrain?
  12. Surely rules do not apply in the case of a S-Works
  13. I expect to see lots of Specialized Epic's and Scott Spark's. Hopefully some Momsens & Pyga's too.....
  14. Intersesting discussion. I have a 2012 Epic Expert and am now looking at the Camber Expert as I struggle in the technical bits on the Epic. Doing the Cape Epic next year and am concerned about the rocky descents.... spoke to the blokes at Concept in Jhb who advised to go for the Camber as it is more forgiving but still climbs well.
  15. Consider the Momsen AL329, great frame and its cheaper. Components might not be as good as the Scott but the bike is very upgradable in my opinion. Worth a look
  16. I would say Scale. You can do family rides and races on it. If the setup is correct it is a very comfortable ride. May also be easier to offload when you want to sell/upgrade.
  17. Is today the day?? Keep us posted please
  18. just seen this now, awesome! Are you still accepting cash or is the deal done?
  19. ..... a few weeks later. I see there is a fantastic deal on both Aspen and Crossmark 29" on CWC. Anyone have an opinion on the Aspen's? I currently have Ikons on my HT and Fast Track on my dual suss and like both set ups.
