  1. I swear by Cytomax, not the cheapest but it works on endurance events. Have used it at Two Oceans, Comrades & Hill 2 Hill.
  2. go to the post office and buy a counter to counter bag (R50.00) and send it to IHF in Midrand. They will send it back to you via the same method. Their service is usually very good although there is currently a 6/7 working day backlog.
  3. I'm not 100% sure but for a bike to have "made in USA" only abt 60% of the bike needs to assembled there.
  4. Go see a good physio first, sometimes the problem can be deep in the calf muscle. The muscle tends to pull away from the bone sometimes and it can feel like shin splints. Just another possibility.
  5. Easiest way to see if it works is to actually de-carb yourself for 3 or 4 days and then try and to a high tempo workout at least 60mins long but preferably 90mins. Try this and then come back and tell how your session went.
  6. if a master can ride hill2hill on a single speed in around 5hrs then you have to wonder what is really necessary..... granny gears are either for the novice or the once a month rider...the pain in your quads is only weakness leaving the body !
  7. The problem is ...Where does it stop? Before you know it there will be kids, with their parents knowledge, taking EPO and whatever else to get an advantage. We already have, at some MTB races, a 10-15min gap between the sub juniors and the main pack to stop fathers catching their kids and helping them up hills !
  8. The traffic news on ECR this morning had mention of another cyclist knocked over in NMR ave. Anybody know any more details?
  9. RIP Carla, Below is an extract of what happened. Barry Austin, Cycling South Africa’s team manager who saw the accident happen, said Swart turned around right in front of the oncoming truck moments after she had lost her cycling computer. “I could see how the driver slammed on his brakes. He even swerved to the right so as to avoid smashing into Swart, but it was to no avail. The truck hit Swart full on, flinging her into the air,” Austin said.
