  1. Dudes, unfortunately it is not only cycling. KZN Athletics is also reported to be broke with possible/probable criminal charges against some staff and to add the cherry on top the KZN President is still able to run for a position at ASA.
  2. PM the link to Shova (Annie from the organisers), maybe she can comment?
  3. I'm abt 30k away but can probably make a plan to drop them off. Might only be this evening though. I'm sure the Balmoral would be able to assist.
  4. Zerin, I have managed to get two cardboard bike boxes for you. One has some bubble wrap & stuff inside, the other is just a box. Where are they staying?
  5. I'll see if I can call some bike shops quick for you to see if they have any boxes from 'new bikes". will let you know.
  6. I can only recommend that you take loads of photos and then talk to the advertisers about misrepresentation. Advise them that you are considering reporting this via "Hello Peter" , Facebook and other tourist websites. You may get lucky but seeing how customer service is more about fleecing the customer in this country you will probably have to go to the courts to get any resolution and then you'll have to ask yourself if it's truly worth the time, money & effort. In the end maybe you can get solace with the fact that you'll help prevent other like minded people from suffering this same experience.
  7. have you tried complete rest ie: no wanking ?
  8. check out these links. http://triathlon.com...-triathlon_3204 http://www.2009tourd...17600-1,00.html http://www.facebook....487&topic=14975
  9. Hi Mobii, I think you may have misunderstood me. I certainly don't disapprove of your use of the ANT+ technology. I was just letting the hubber know that it won't collect data from Polar sensors unless you have managed to get Polar to release the required info, and some additional info as to why Polar are reportedly not adopting ANT+ Good Luck with your product.
  10. Sorry dude but it won't collect data from any Polar device. Polar uses a propriety communication method whereas most other companies, such as Mobii use ANT+. I believe that polar will not adopt ANT + as they see the future in Low Power Blue Tooth (which apparently uses a fraction of the current power needs) and their devices are setup to easily adopt this technology whereas ANT+ devices are not.
  11. or you could buy a road bike and use a forward seatpost. check out these links. http://triathlon.competitor.com/2009/07/gear-tech/adjusting-your-road-bike-for-triathlon_3204 http://www.2009tourdefrancenews.com/article/0,6610,s1-1-4-17600-1,00.html http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=190987876487&topic=14975
  12. check out Donovan van Gelder (www.cybercoach.co.za) he coaches top cyclists & triathletes and was was himself a top athlete.
  13. There is no active ingredient like a transact patch. It is purely an elastic tape that offers support.
  14. Kinesio Tape - R120.00 at sportmans warehouse It's mostly applied by physios. Have you had your injury professionally assessed ?
  15. Plyometric exercises, essentially most of those exercises you did as a kid at football or rugby practice, will benefit you in some way. The exercises would assist in keeping a better balance between cycling and non-cycling muscles thus reducing injuries. Doing the right exercises would also help strengthen the core, glutes & hip flexors.
  16. the following weekend there is also the option of the Engen road race or the Michaelhouse mtb.
  17. long term forecast has it down to be quite warm http://www.yr.no/place/South_Africa/KwaZulu-Natal/Hillcrest/long.html
  18. so long as it's cooler than last years 35C+ I'll be happy
  19. Speak to someone like SA Mercantile or look in the yellow pages under shipping agents/ Shipping companies. They can arrange for you goods to be put into a container. I'm guessing that air freight could work out to be quite expensive. Check out this link, it's from an expat magazine in london. http://www.tntmagazine.com/leavingtheuk/shipping/shipping-gear-overseas/shipping-gear-overseas.aspx They may even be able to get your VAT back.
  20. In KZN the race announcer repeatedly mentions every time they do the course briefing that if you are caught in the wrong batch you will get a 10 min penalty....it seems to work.
  21. don't know how old your car is but be aware you might have warranty issues (car electrics) if you used an unapproved fitter.
  22. hope it is a speedy & full recovery
  23. how does Suikerbosrand compare to Inchanga (comrades route) 2.5km long, 150m rise in altitude? seeing you post above I guess it doesn't compare.
  24. do you have to fully fund your own trip too?
  25. if they are that price is is not better to build a training hub using a powertap hub ? I don't believe that you can really use a power meter during a road race (mtb - Yes) unless you are not planning on staying with the peleton !
