  2. One from my last trip to buffelspoort
  3. Which lense did you use here and f stop to achieve the nice looking blury backgroud?
  4. What is this “Thermal” stuff you are talking about... I have a rule that goes like this: If my first ascent long pants and and a long sleeve shirt with my cycling wind jammer and cycling long finger gloves are not sufficient... then it is to cold for outside! Go to the gym or to the couch. I get cold very easy and also dont have a problem applying my rule.
  5. I took them for na 4,5km run this morning. I loved my Kinvaras but these Freemom ISO is in a different class. Last night I was almost cross with myself with spending so much money on a pair of shoes... but after my run, I dont regret it at all.
  6. Seems like I will have to go for a run tomorrow morning.
  7. Goeie griet, but you guys are doing some serious mileage. Well Done!
  8. My shoe booster display is also gone.. But no option to renew on the app
  9. The Saucony Kinvara 8 has been added to www.sportsclearance.co.za site and currently retailing for 1700. I have received 1 discount voucher / Coupon code of R400 (valid until tomorrow night). This brings the price down to R1300 which is a steal. Since I can only shoe boost in May and my current shoes are completely finished... I am very tempted to get a pair https://www.sportsclearance.co.za/collections/mens-road/products/kinvara-8-mens-1?variant=7142162071603 nothing available in my size. If anyone wants the discount code...send me a PM
  10. I had the typical 2 day sore muscles, nothing too bad. After that I was fine and all the niggles are gone. I took last week very easy and did almost next to nothing. This week I am back in my exercise routine.
  11. I finished my marathon. However everything that can possible go wrong did. Starting out my chest wanted to close down within the first 2 km. I managed to get through it without using my asma pump and it started to ease at about 6 km. Then from about 10 km my stomach started playing games. I had some unplanned pit stops on route followed by cramps. From the beginning I just didn't feel the “mojo” but I carried on. I went through halfway at about 2:22 and was considering packing it in but I continued knowing that there is going to be a lot of suffering happening on the second loop. At this time I also knew that I will have to revert to a strategy to keep going and try to finish. The wheels started to come off very soon after this and I was walking more than what I was running. For some reason my GPS was measuring more distance that what we were actually doing so looking at it had absolutely no point. From about 27 km to 29 I was in a very dark place. I ended up on the pavement a couple of times due to my legs cramping. I had to walk for more than 2 km before I was able to try and run small stretches. During this 2 km the ambulance was very close on two occasions attending to other runners. For me that was very intimidating as I knew I was not looking good and I knew they will not even think twice to pick me up and load me in the back. The last 10 km went better where I continued with the run walk combo. At the last water point one of the water table guys gave me some of his beer which was the best thing I had all day. I had a friend who ran with me the whole route and if it wasn't for his kindness and way he looked after me when I was in the “DARK” I would not have finished.
  12. Thanks guys. It's going to be "FUN"
  13. Yes that is true, however I am much stronger on the bike now.
  14. Nervous definitely, specially after I saw on the website that you will not be allowed to start the second half after 8:30. "Marathon runners will not be permitted to start second lap of 42.2 km distance after 08h30." Start is 6:00 to 6:10 and I wanted to start after the initial rush. Which then means if I am aiming for a 5 hour run I will most likely be at half way around 8:30. I don't want to cut it to close so I guess I will have to start as close to 6 as I can.
  15. And I will watch the pain from a comfy couch.
  16. You could always raise your heels a little bit by putting in a gel wrapper or small piece of plastic between the shoe and the shoe inner. But do both shoes and not just one
  17. I had the op more than 15 years ago. By that time it was diagnosed, I didnt worry about running again or not. I just wanted to be able to walk without pain.
  18. Has anyone here tried to renew the shoe booster? So I signed up for shoe booster last year early march. Shopped at sportsmans on 11 march. Phone the call centre today to find out on which date I will be able to renew the shoe booster and get told only in May! Needless to say I have now requested a full recon from them regarding all shoe booster activities. Now to wait for the explanation where the additional months are coming from.
  19. Ag no! Falling is never fun. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
  20. Well if you are a snail. Then I think I am slower than a crawling injured snail. Will have to wait and see what I can manage over 42
  21. So how much drop in pace per km can I expect from my McCarthy Toyota half @ 2:19 to vaal marathon? What is the rule of thumb.
