  1. Jawohl .... Meine business associate is a bratwurst munching, Jageirmeister chugging Austrian national. Vot is eet you vont?
  2. Pretty much wrench on my steed myself much of the time if I have the time. Otherwise I use ol Juan 'Gghwun' Smook of Mobile Bike Tec and have never been disappointed
  3. I fully support what they are striking for, much of the frustration is rooted in the mismanagement of departments as well. But, the moment hospitals and schools are being disrupted they've crossed a clear line and aren't deserving of any support!
  4. Pretty stupid idea to stick up random poles, end up possibly injuring someone. A better idea would be to have it at the entry exit points of the hiking routes, too narrow for handlebars but wide enough to walk through. On the same note, runners/hikers shouldn't be using the riding trails either. Groenkloof is probably one of the best marked multi trail venues around, 90% of the time I don't think theres an excuse for any party to be on the wrong routes. Especially for the odd few riders there without helmets!
  5. It's an organised event, with permission from the relevant authorities and full road closure to allow for the participants. Vastly different scenario.
  6. Have ridden with the Magicshines as well. Incredible lights for what they are, in terms of service and function they are unbeatable value for money in my opinion. Particularly like the strobe function, like a flashing police light, especially if you make siren sounds Soon as MY budget opens up, a set of these are on my list!
  7. 6-8 spots like that.... it's toast. At best I reckon you could run a tube as a temp fix, don't think it'll seat well though.
  8. Also seriously considering this. Problem is I have a good client base up here..
  9. Nothing wrong with the Suntours, especially if you're on a budget. Value for money they are hands down some of the best forks out there and have been making shocks for decades. Dragon sports now bring in spares as well, so the forks are fully serviceable.
  10. Was fortunate enough to be at the launch, have to say, 2011 Scott range seems set to really make waves. Attention to detail is immaculate, from part spec to visual design. http://www.probike.co.za/blogs/brandon/2011-scott-launch for some thumbnails
  11. Did you manage to get the licence plate? Either way, lay a charge of hit and run at your nearest SAPS. You could also claim from the road and accident fund. Need to do this all asap though. My bad, didn't read the entire post properly
  12. heheh ... similar debate in one of the photographic forums
  13. Yo moms quite naice!
  14. A certain former Tread publisher just klaps 1 litre of milk after a hard ride for recovery, he's quite a monster on the pedals too.
  15. Your last line says it best. Personally I find nothing wrong with his radio and tv work, in fact it's great to have someone who was a pro cyclist at that level. Besides all that, on the few times having met the guy, found him to be a stand up chap. Just my opinion though, same as my asshole.
  16. Not cheap? I've found him extremely reasonably priced. But yeah, does a damn good job, like you say ''quality work'' B)
  17. I'm keen, haven't been able to ride much with the SWC and been sick the last two weeks. Did a short ride today to temper the withdrawals, reckon another trap is in order tomorrow! Where abouts would you want to ride the Spruit from?
  18. Yeah that was me, someone else also made a similar point. I'm not for or against Lance perse, having never met the man personally. Although I do have an opinion and of late it's been lowered somewhat. Having said that I think a lot of people have also been using to situation to further their own ends or twist things out of context. What many people need to realise here though, this is no witchhunt by anyone but a federal investigation. For an idea of the guy handling this, just google his name alongside Marion Jones. This whole thing is more than just Lance Armstrong, theres a whole house of cards which is yet to become apparent as the investigation and subsequent court case concludes.
  19. Matt Lloyd's comments are classic ....
  20. Discussing the finer points of a good old "biffo" ....
  21. Don't waste your energy, topic starter had it's advances spurned and now doesn't have the guts to attach a name here. Not worth the waste of time.
  22. Boy are your calculations flawed, never mind that the justification/excuse used sounds similar to the logic folk use for skipping a red light.
  23. I have a spare wheel mounted bike rack, works a charm for two bikes. Called the Thule 'Spare Me' ... picking up a new one to put on the car today or tomorrow, shall put a picture up for you once attached. Best part is, it doesn't obscure my lights or numberplate and has plenty clearance from the exhaust.
  24. I can personally vouch for Juan here from first hand experience... TOP job, top prices and top chap! Had my bike serviced by him just over a month back, subsequently the bike was faster and fitter than I am. Due to that I ended up overending it 'many a time' took it to Juan again and he fixed the chain and shifting for me. Sterling work all round, in fact other than myself he is the only person from now on that I allow to wrench my wench ... uhm steed I mean!
  25. Really been good to see these guys progress, and a relatively young side too!! Go Ghanian Black Stars !
