  1. No it does not react immediately, you have enough time to get home and let the tire down and re inflate.
  2. Yeah the cold C02 makes the latex solidify. If you use a bomb let the tire down when you get home and re inflate with a floor pump to save the Stan's.
  3. Unfortunately this is normal. You have to set the tension screw so that the derailleur just does not touch the frame. Normally it's more of a problem with Sram derailleurs. Maybe on future frames Pat will fix this slight issue.
  4. I have a spare tube, levers, bomb all taped together with insulation tape. It makes a nice little bundle which sits in my middle pocket on my back. I keep a small multi tool separate in another pocket because I use it more regularly.
  5. Thanks... I was planning on going with Arch Ex but I was also in a hurry to get it built and they only had Crest's in stock, Arch's would have been a few more weeks wait. If I break them which looks highly unlikely with this much suspension Ill replace the rims with Arch's. I've already attempted a few drops with the suspension set softer than recommended, I've managed to drop just over a meter and it doesn't bottom out. The wheels have held up fine so far. I think it will be fine for my type of riding. If I progress to bigger hits once I'm more comfortable with the bike I'll probably get some more sturdy wheels. I love how super plush it is but still very agile. With a quick adjustment to the suspension the whole bike stiffens up. On the 2 rides I have done so far it eats any rough terrain thrown it's way. I was able to ride over stuff with out even thinking twice where as on my hard tail It would have been quite a challenge.
  6. I haven't had a chance to really put them through their paces yet. My first impression coming from XT brakes is very good though. The XT's where great never had issues with them. They seem to have a tiny bit more power than the XT's and the Hope levers feel very solid and well made. It feels like they won't get squish/spongy any time soon. I also don't suspect the levers will become loose and floppy like some Avid's do after time. They also quite a bit smaller than I expected which is great. I think I made the right choice with them.
  7. Howzit, So I just finished putting together my first PYGA. I'm super excited about it as I have ridden one before and they are just brilliant. I went with the 650b soft tail and put a 160mm Pike on the front. Damn this fork is so smooth it's amazing! Brakes are Hope stealth race evo x2, 180mm on the front and 160mm on the rear. Reverb dropper post. Crest wheelset(If I break them Ill rebuild them with Arch Ex rims). The drive train I took off my old bike which is XT with Rotor cranks(Saving for XX1). Saddle is a Token carbon XWing and the bars and stem are KCNC(Saving for Easton bars and stem). 80g ESI Grips. I still need to shorten the brake hoses. This looks like it is going to be such a fun bike to ride coming from a 29er hard tail.
  8. I enjoy road riding but if you want to feel safe and enjoy the social aspect of ride more then get a MTB.
  9. I use Shotz effervescent tablets in my water bottle and the odd gel if I haven't eaten properly or need the extra boost. They work really well for me. The gels don't really give a kick but help maintain a decent output for a longer period without dropping you once they where off like some gels do.
  10. It's a good start!
  11. All RS 32mm shocks use the same seal kit, they are universal. I have a few in stock, pm me if you need.
  12. Yes if the fork is tapered then the frame has to be. Most new forks are going tapered so you would be future proofing in a way. It would be interesting to see who actually notices any difference in handling due to the so called stiffer steering. You can put a straight steerer into a tapered frame with an "adapter".
  13. Grease does work but only for about 2 weeks then the noise comes back I would love a Freewheel Body that is silent.
  14. Enduro bearings last me about 2000km on the front and about 1000km on the back. Make sure to not damage the bearings when installing them. Ive been thinking about getting new axil's machined for a smaller inner race bearing for my 330 hubs so I can use bearings with slightly larger balls.
  15. Thank so much guys. Ralph's and Ron's seem to come up quite often so they are definitely on my list to try after the Fast Trak Control's.
  16. Hi, I've been very happy with Race King 2.2 (29er) for quite some time now. I can ride well with them on most surfaces including slightly wet/slippery and dry powdery on hard pack which can also be quite slippery sometimes. I'm happy with the RK on the back but I feel the front could have more grip when cornering. I'm quite an aggressive trail rider, so I would like a bit more confidence in the front while cornering. Another thing is I don't want to compromise on speed or weight, so switching to a heavier slower tire is not really what I'm looking for. I have tried a X King 2.2 on the front but it's way to slow and heavy for my liking. I am probably going to try a Specialized Fast Trak Control soon. How does the Fast Trak compare to the RK on the front? Recommendations and input would be appreciated. Thank you.
  17. If you look closely at the Momsen 929 and the Sentesi Flu they are the same frame except the Momsen has the PYGA drop out which is terrible on the Momsen(works well on the PYGA), as all it takes is a light bump on the derailleur and it moves messing up the gears. They are both just re branding some Chinese frame, which I suppose they are allowed to make some modifications on if they order a whole bunch of them.
  18. When the FWB's bearings are shot, the Cluster normally starts to wobble when the wheel is spinning, this can eventually effect the gears.
  19. Probably the Freewheel Body. Might be the bearings or the pals need a good cleaning so they can engage properly. The Freewheel Body attaches to the Hub. The Cluster(group of sprockets) sits on the Freewheel Body. You can replace or service the Freewheel Body without replacing the Hub.
  20. As a bike shop that has dealt with Scott before concerning cracked frames. They have always been prompt and efficient. One of my dealings a few years ago was my own Scale 30 carbon frame which they replaced with a Scale 10 frame and it took no more than 2 weeks.
  21. Straight from the factory Crest wheel sets might give issues with a 95Kg rider. If you take them to a proper wheel builder to double check them before you use them, you won't have any issues. My father is around 95Kgs and rides Crests with no issues, he is an aggressive HT rider so they do take hits. Just make sure to keep the pressure enough to not ding the rim.
  22. Ive been told they are the 2014 model..
  23. They are not custom specific. They are just the new Revelation's which Patrick has managed to get his hands on early. I'm not sure what the finish is called, they look just as durable as the 'normal' finish.
  24. Very nice looking, I've never seen a black one. I must chat to Patrick and find out when they came out like this. What hoops are you running on that beast?
  25. Interesting, Can you post a picture..
