  1. I would like to learn to dirt jump. Availability is a bit of a problem and finding someone to show me how. Also, I am an old man.
  2. indeed, hence why I ride alone as well, maybe in a small group of probably max 6, but not for a while
  3. so then fill the lane, and let everyone else pass into oncoming traffic? so basically leave no room for cars, motorbikes, or other bicycles. I saw this convoy, and thought to myself how selfish they are. It was 3 or 4 abreast and nothing could pass them. Just asking, I understand the point, but fail to see the logic.
  4. I looked, but I dont seem to have it anymore. Sorry man
  5. MTB events are not like road events. Waterpoints are few and far between on an mtb event.
  6. whether safety car or not, isnt it still as per law, single file only?
  7. When did the name change? I was under the impression its called broken road
  8. I am not sure, but I might have one, otherwise its for a formula lever. However the problem is finding it. I will try and locate it this weekend
  9. Yes, avoid dairy, instant mucus buildup. Friends ask my why no milk, i just say lactose intolerant, no explanations needed LOL
  10. Yes, I think I was part of that discussion, unless you pm'd him. I cant handle the amount of repeat ads, it has become worse than gumtree. At least the forum is still around
  11. I have tried some or rather 2 or 3 types of bike specific cleaner. Well known brands, I prefer car wash, I know its safe and alot cheaper as well. Op, I hope you have spoken to the owner and come to some sort of arrangement, this is a tough one. Also the owner probably gave the wrong liquid as his staff was not around(assuming).
  12. I think potato trails in hout bay normally have comps
  13. I have asthma all my life. I get the worst of it when playing sports and without warning. I am lucky that the asthma pump works for me, but at times when I am not doing too good, I will make use of a nebuliser. I am also on foxair - not sure if it works for me as there is times when riding that I need my asthma pump(often). People joke with me about walking up hills, asthma is the main cause. Try not to do anything without an asthma pump. I keep almost empty ones as spares. in the car, on the bikes etc. just incase I forget to take it along.
  14. I have been robbed, mugged, shot at etc. I have avoided such incidents as well and even fought off perpetrators. The thing is, you have to be sure when to stand your ground, you will know when yo surrender. "Plastic gangsters" are easy to identify and easy to f up. The hardcore guys are the ones to worry about. Identifying them comes with experience, but at the same time rather be safe than sorry. Out of all those times, I wished I had a gun. However I still do not own one. I used to walk around with a knife until I came to realise the consequences, as well as a steel collapsible batton. Now I just use pepper spray. No contact and no hurting your hands. I have used it twice. It takes about 5 to 10 sec depending where you spray and the perp is on the floor.
  15. 🙈
  16. I want one of those rifles for at home.
  17. F that, you did not have to explain yourself, your lif was at risk. All this hype around pitbulls, but no one realises how dangerous other dogs are. It is the owners responsibility to keep the animal under control and on a leash when in public. I would of called the cops and let the owner deal with that. The blank gun tho is a serious consideration. Been wanting to buy 2 for a longtime now, just not yet.
  18. press the single side button 3 times. If it is setup it will send out an sms and gps location to emergency contacts.
  19. Luckily the forester has x mode, which is similar to low range. Most weekends I am out on dirt roads. The car has proven itself. If I upgrade then it will be to a newer one with terrain response, but I dont see that happening for a very longtime.
  20. I come from having 4x4's over the last 10 years to a subaru forester. Let me tell you this little awd drive can go just about anywhere a 4x4 can apart from extreme trails where low range is desperately needed. A friend of mine had a awd xtrail and that also went just about anywhere. I liked having the 4x4's and doing some extreme trails, but mtb is enough for me. The trips to cederberg, tankwa, sutherland and various untarred roads are gobbled up by the forester. I def wont be getting another 4x4 and my pocket is breathing better with the lower maintenance and fuel costs.
  21. I had a friend at tech who travelled everyday from grabouw with his courtina intercepto and another one who only drove MG's. I was looking for a courtina recently, but gave up
  22. I am finding these type of vans to be extremely ideal, especially if you gonna be kitting it out as a bike/ camp vehicle. We are in the market for similar for the wifes business as an suv just does not offer the same versatility. I have had bakkies and large suv's, they work, but are huge and heavy on fuel. I am now driving a forester and its is ideal size for the bike to fit in the back. The smaller suv's are too small unless you remove all the wheels.
  23. What hub is it? I cant see the pic!
