  1. Indeed. Still manic with work and unpacking. Office closes next week Thursday so Ill have time to finish the website and logos etc. Sorry for the delay okes.
  2. Lyk soos laas jaar. Cool!
  3. Exactly! One of places you don't skimp is saddle, shoes and gloves. Those are the three major contact points on the bike and also where discomfort on rides first appear.
  4. Take enough variations in food and drink. Some called flavour fatigue is a horrible thing where you simply can't stand sweet or savoury food after a while. Last year I packed a variation of Woolies quick foods like the mini vetkoeks, burgers, nut & raisin bars, jelly beans, gummy bears, etc. Also take a protein shake and some of your favourite energy drink in various flavours. Drinking berry flavour for 24 hours is a horrible thing. Make sure you take at least 2 sets of riding shorts, wet wipes makes for an instant shower between rides unless you use the showers they provide. Take 5 pairs of socks and enough dry clothes. It might rain like last year and riding in wet socks suck! Spare batteries, chargers etc for your lights is a given. Spares for your bike, tubes, chain and the basic tools you will need as if you are on a long ride. Tent, mattress, bedding etc is a given. Eat regularly even if you aren't hungry. The body reacts in a strange way when pushed for this long. Stay hydrated as well as you can. Drink more than you think you need. Take a massive sense of humour. You will need it in the middle of night or when you can't really sit anymore. haha. It is the best race of the year and you will have a lot of fun.
  5. That's one serious machine. Nice!
  6. Green builds lol. Looking good!
  7. EK0764 Depart: Johannesburg - O.R. Tambo Intl 19:15 27/07/2014 Checking in!
  8. Shipping is indeed free but comes at the cost of no tracking number. You are at the mercy of the SA Postal Service for the delivery after it lands in SA via Parcelforce. Can take a while if you are unlucky. Then you pay 15% of the total order + shipping price + R30 disbursement fee. Also keep in mind the transaction will be charged to your card a little higher than the price shown on CRC. On a R2000 order it will be R2330 landed cost. I think buying local might work out the same now. Especially with the current exchange rate.
  9. Cool. Always get the two mixed up.
  10. Pads and discs need to play well together. Neither are truly flat and only once they "bed" in do they work as they should. To bed the brakes in people employ different methods. Mine choice is to find a nice long hill. Get the bike up to speed and really climb on the breaks. Repeat 10 times. After that the pad and disc will now be good friends. Try not to kill yourself. Make sure your weight is way back when you hit the brakes.
  11. The Mavic shoes are brilliant quality and super comfortable. I think Omnico brings it in. Check with Hannes at Cyclotech if he can get.
  12. Go to see a good sports massage therapist. Identify your problem areas, mostly in the legs and also get the iMuscle App for your phone or tablet. Thank me later. I switched from Chiro to this and I feel super!
  13. Plus, black is the new red. Go stealth.
  14. Tech 3 comes in X2, E4, and V4 They only launch in SA December I think. I ordered mine from Merlin Cycles.
  15. They are available in SA. Just need to shop around a bit. Check with the CT okes. I own 2 pairs of shorts and a long sleeve top. Super happy with them.
  16. The guys & girls I remember. Greg Miller Greg Minnaar Phillipa Hutton Amy Jane Mundy (sp) The whole Kona team from the 90s and this one crazy night in Citrusdal. Dirk Lourens Ill add more as I remember them.
  17. From where? Trying to find TLD shorts from my previous source with zero luck.
  18. Since fitting the Hans Dampfs in May (I think) ive done a lot of diverse riding on them. Different types of trails, different pressures, XC, DH, Enduro trails, jumping etc. To me it is the best all-round tyre Ive ever used. The Pacestar compound being the hardest has lasted incredibly well and I can highly recommend using it on the rear. For the front you can highly consider the Trailstar or the softest compound even. The Super Gravity version, although a little heavier, has proven to be super hardy on rocks and you can pretty much go all out on them and you won't be stuck on the side of the trail with a ripped sidewall. The extra weight is hardly noticeable. It is a fast rolling tyre that has proven itself over and over on dry conditions. As the muddy wet season sets in here in JHB I am looking forward to see how they perform in mud. The 2.35" size really is closer to a 2.5" on the right rims. Will I buy them again. YES!!! Well worth the +- R1200 retail price for a set. Dead easy to setup for tubeless and I've only burped them under the most stupid of riding conditions. Even then the tyre was easy to get back up and running with a cheapy hand pump. I am happy to give them a proper 5/5!
  19. All the mother******** rats that roll with big bikes on the Spruit to the utter disdain of everybody on the hub. Can I get a **** yeah!!!
  20. +1 for speaking to Sliiiiiiiick about this.
  21. Very good wheels. Strong also and handled my 100kg ass quite well on the single speed. I wouldn't swop the Crossrides though. The XTs require more maintenance. Not sure about actual weight difference between the sets.
  22. I'm lazy to search. Who has the best price? I found for R599 each. That's more than the Hope rotors.
  23. Sure got me to sit up.
