people hate cyclists because a lot of the time we behave like inconsiderate tjops on the road/trail... we are our own worst enemy the general tone of the responses on this thread also highlights this... instead of trying to understand the reasoning of a 35000 strong group on FB, we immediately become defensive, citing jealousy as their motivator

Would loved to have joined you, I'm co-incidentally staying in Hekpoort for a few days and had intended on doing lots of LSD in and around the area but I've also come down with laryngitis so I'm not doing any riding at all at the moment. besides I'm sulking over the fact that you never attended our breedts nek group ride...

I wonder if it takes less than a minute to be mugged at a busy intersection whilst bowing ones head in prayer? (of course I speak for Joburg here) Just a thought. It's a noble suggestion but maybe not so wise.
