  1. I feel like you might need some Biscotti (as pictured in cat-i's profile pic) to go with that coffee.. PM me your closest PostNet and details for delivery (like real name & cellphone number )
  2. Well done to those that completed it. It looks like you disappear off the leaderboard on Endomondo once you've completed it? Or am I missing something? I had a bit of FOMO this week. Such a pity that commuting isn't possible for me anymore
  3. He has me worried too.. I'm wondering how I'm going to get cookies to Germany. Best one of you local okes catch up and take the lead
  4. Knead your dough well, but because it's a sticky dough, don't be tempted to add too much flour. It needs the moisture to create steam which causes it to puff up. When they come out of the oven wrap them in a tea towel so that they don't dry out oh and don't roll them out too thick otherwise they won't puff
  5. I'm experiencing a bit of FOMO, so I thought I'd just wish the rest of you well. This challenge was tough last year. I packed in as much as I could earlier in the week, so that by my Friday commute home I just needed to do the minimum to complete it. I remember riding with Cat-i and it started raining on the way home. I got home cold and wet and happy to be finished!
  6. https://randburgsun.co.za/343683/breaking-cyclist-reportedly-dies-knocked-northumberland/ sadly, the report has changed. He succumbed to his injuries
  7. I've been experimenting, getting more and more requests like this.... so I guess it's the winners choice But having said that, I think the winner would've earned something loaded in sugar and calories and decadence
  8. Well, since I can't participate in the commuters challenge this year, I'll sponsor the winners cookies, how about that?
  9. A very rare moment of keeping still for Scar boy
  10. I can't believe a year has passed. I thought it would be apt to post an update on one of his fur children that has become a family member in the Drew household. Apart from the time that he chewed the kitchen door, or the time that he chased Friskey cat so that she didn't come home for a month, or the time the couch cushion exploded, he's adapted extremely well to his new home and quite honestly I can't remember life before Scar.. so here are some pics. I hope the others are all doing as well as he is.
  11. He's a very happy and boisterous boy! He nearly knocks me off my feet from excitement when I get home everyday. He's settled in nicely with our elderly Jack Russell, and our 3 cats keep him in line (he gets regular slaps if he gets too close) I'm completely and utterly in love with the mutt and can't really remember life before him. I should ask IanJ if he can maybe put an update on all of the others on the Barry thread. It'll be nice to know how they're doing.
  12. Excuse my ignorance, maybe it's obvious to many, but why isn't it a good idea? What are the risks?
  13. But if we do that we'll all be knocked down a position on the leaderboard #justsaying
  14. Sorry Robbie, it's never easy saying goodbye
  15. Thanks Ed, looks like I have Eureka growing in my garden. It's really cool having lemons readily available for all the baking that I do
  16. That's interesting, I haven't experienced this problem. I'm not sure of the names of the different lemon varieties we have here in SA, but were you possibly using the type with the really knobbly thick skin? The bitterness in a lemon comes from the pith, and those thicker variety have quite a thick pith. I generally use the thin skinned type of lemon which has a very thin pith.
  17. This thread reminded me of the Hoyt story, so I re-watched the video to see what setup they used. Not ideal for what you're looking for, but inspiring nonetheless:
  18. You'll probably get more flavour from halved lemons under the meat rather than just the juice
  19. But I've clicked on send/receive multiple times and my email hasn't arrived
  20. Infuriating! I watched a woman in the car in front of me get distracted the other day and started veering directly towards a cyclist. I started hooting and she quickly realised and corrected. How she didn't clip him is beyond me, she was literally 2cms away. I've also had a guy clip me with his side mirror and continue driving away once. I was very shaken but also happy to see his mirror dangling down the side of his car. It was on the South road uphill so I was never going to catch up to him.
  21. This was most probably the case with wannabe's wife, but he also said that the ITSA stated that there was nothing due to them. I would personally ask for a re-assessment. Unless there was tax due from a previous assessment and SARS decided the refund belonged to them.
