  1. No Trubes, that's the beauty of this particular crit.. even slow coaches like myself can ride for an hour without being stopped...
  2. I've had the CS200 and upgraded to CS400 for a few reasons: - CS200 can only store 7 exercises, if you ride regularly this can be quite a pain, I sometimes had to delete exercises because I had forgotten to download (CS400 has 100hours of storage capacity) - you can't download your information to software, only to the polar website so you can't access your info unless you're online. I also found that training diary to be painfully slow. (CS400 comes with pro-trainer software) - No ascent (I like to know my total ascent, esp when training for an event where I know there's a lot of climbing) They are both very nice computers. My CS200 served it's purpose but I love my CS400. It gives me all the info I need!
  3. I'm with cptmayhem, nothing wrong with the R80 jobbies... they'll serve their purpose for the day
  4. I'm not race-ist, snakes can be as fast or slow as they like... as long as they use the right size Camelbak
  5. Now, now, Lowly worm.... We are talking about RACE snakes here, not your normal garden variety, have you ever seen a race snake? have you? huh?.... no, I didn't think so.. spending so much time in northern Africa, you tend to miss out on such 'stuff' and.... don't judge my speed by hill #1 at sugar bush, that's just not a fair judgement to make... btw... I know a few snakes that use Camelbaks and they spend a lot of time here on the hub. Maybe I'll check with them how they deal with the strap issue...
  6. It's a 600ml difference so whether I have the big one or the little one I end up refilling anyway. I'm of course talking about events where there are 30 kays between water points. On a shorter race the 1,5l is more than enough without filling... I'm no race snake anyway, so 2 minutes here and there is no issue in my life
  7. or just put your sticky stuff in your bottle and only keep water in the Camelbak, then it doesn't get all 'gunged up'
  8. You need to determine what you want to use it for. I don't agree with bigger being better. I have a big one (Camelbak Magic) 2,l bladder and loads of packing space and a small one (Camelbak Charm) 1,5l bladder and one pocket with just enough space for spares. I find the big one useful if I intend going for a long ride where I know there are no water stops, but overkill in a race. You end up packing a whole lot of unnecessary stuff just because you have the space. My little one has seen me through bigger races like Sani2C and SabieX, it's light and comfortable and holds enough water to get me from waterpoint to waterpoint.
  9. Wash the HR strap once a week (in the washing machine) and rinse it after every ride. Make sure it fits nice and tight, I had the same problem but mine was reading 225 intermittently. The people at Polar pointed out that my strap was too big for me (I had no idea that it comes in different sizes )so I just cut it and sewed it to fit properly. If none of the above works, the people at Polar are most friendly and helpful...
  10. Yeah, especially when it's rubbing up against the inside of my kenda nevegals
  11. shew, that's a relief apparently spud doesn't..... he seems sickened by the fact that I dig Toobs
  12. There you go breaking my heart again Tim.... ah well, I'll always have Conti tubes and slime...
  13. aaaaahhhhh Roons, you say the sweetest things ok, fair enough Mampara... he didn't ask that, but I like to stir and it was the perfect opportunity Looking forward to the couch pic, I love seeing leaky tyres on couches
  14. sorry to have to be the "one" seriously guys.... I can ride longer than 2 hours without losing pressure, I don't have stans spraying up into my face evertime I hit a root and if I do puncture (which is seldom) I don't have to try to locate the problem, I just whip out another tube and 5 minutes later I'm riding again.... but that's just me... (or maybe it's me and Scotty )
  15. Or you could just use tubes and you won't have any of these problems
  16. And don't forget the helmets.. please people Even when you're rolling back to your car after the race. Also remember the distance will probably not be EXACTLY 94.7kms
  17. BB, enjoy the TDF threads.... it's just a matter of time before all the 94.7 ones start
  18. shouldn't this post be in the 'what makes you fart' thread? I agree.. he is talented.. crazy would be if he was doing a wheelie over the bridge
  19. Anytime my son call me auntie again and I might have to hurt you
  20. 6 weeks is the minimum amount of recovery that she'll need considering she would have just undergone major abdominal surgery. But another consideration is whether or not she'll be breastfeeding. If she does, she'll be lucky to get away from baby long enough to ride 5 kays let alone 40. Parenthood is difficult enough in the former weeks without adding unnecessary pressure to get back to cycling.
  21. Anytime honey... maybe it's just me that finds it creepy that you know what another person was doing a year ago to the day.... I don't even know what I was doing a year ago to the day but like I said... maybe it's just me Oh BTW nice bike GOv2
  22. Thule have a nice range of 'clip on' racks which you just clip onto your towbar. I have the 2-bike one and I'm happy with it
