Nice work . See you go me down already for D
  5. All I will call you is consistent I don't think I said anything about their strategy at all never mind that it alone lead to him winning, but we presumably can all agree that Armstrong and US Postal were single minded in their approach and I believe doping was one element of the entire program to achieve their objectives. I think its is disingenuous to suggest everything was about the doping - and it is naive to think many of the other top teams didn't have the same resources or access to experts and drugs as USP had, or that they doped any less.
  6. Oh cry me a river. In discussion was whether the doping playing fields are really skewed - i.e was LA's doping program somehow superior to everyone else's. My point is LA took the same approach to this as he did everything else that went into winning the tour. At the end of the day its possible that he integrated whatever he was on with the rest of his program in a better way than most - but there is nothing that has come out that suggests the doping he did is fundamentally different to that done by most of the peloton - yet we keep hearing from some that he was some how the uber doper... Its getting so old.
  7. Maybe not but its not like LA was the only one with access to Ferrari. You pays your money and spend your time - you gets your advantage. Its no different to the science of training, recovery, equipment etc. None of those are a level playing field in the sense that each guy / team works hard as hell to tilt the field in their own favour.

Anyone doing the twitter ride on Saturday... Think it could be fun - just hoping the easy pace they promise is my easy and not Chris Froome easy... Would like to save the legs for sunday.
  9. cool so you doing about a 3.20 Argus then, and your 3.10 bike is holding a bit back for the run? If so that gives me a pretty good starting point on what to expect...
  10. +1 on that but let me add this - can you give us your cycle leg times vs your argus or 94.7 times so I can make some wild deductions from that on the sort of time I will likely do...
  11. Classy as ever - this is him leaving the hospital...

    Cricket......

Sounds like it is serious and he will be heading home. ruptured achilles tendon...
  13. Apparently at your local VA....
  14. I gather most of those gym dudes are mostly dishing out are animal health drugs and the like which are easier to get hold of without complicit doctors or pharmicists? EPO also not really a target drug for the gym crowd... Anyway IF they do have it they have it illegally. That is my bottom line. If no one cracks down on this of course it will remain rampant. I am still confused by the attitude of outrage at the athletes but acceptance of the supply chain. Clealry those that are motivated will always be able to get this stuff - but lets not make it easy for them for crying in a bucket of EPOHHHH.
  15. I agree its supply and demand - and the other side of that equation is if there is plenty easy supply, the price goes down which increases demand. Price in this context is not just price, but also risk and ease of obtaining.
  16. Went to the briefing last night - pretty cool actually feeling rather psyched. They have GU on board this yr as their nutritian sponsor... Obviously they are promoting the sponsor but they did make the point that if possible use what they have on the course since this just makes your life easier (gu chomps / gels every 3km on the run, gu bru at each station on the bike as well... Any thoughts on this? My perception was gu is too high GO but seems they have a low GI version as well (Roctane?).
  17. he can always write a book then...
  18. One would think but there was a thread on that already which died a fairly quick death since the hub consensus seems to be that it futile/naive/notworhttheeffort/missing the point/and such like. edit here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/123059-the-sa-epo-drug-mule-doctor-or-pharmacist-should-be-prosecuted/page__st__32

    Chafe

I'd throw some bactraban in there - for the quick heal. that stuff works and fast.
  20. I think you'd have to separate prize money from sponsorship money / appearance fees etc. I don't see why not for the latter
  21. Maybe more like a mate helping a mate say he didn't know without actually making a statement which his sponsors asked him not to do... McCallums are dodgy like that. apparently.
  22. No probably not... But since he is going to play the hero card now aka Tyler and the boys... I I have to guess, DG will spill plenty beans in order to try get a reduced sentance. Just hoping he doesn't have much to spill...
  23. Good post thanks. So DG has said he is going to come clean... In doing so he may have created a bit of a conundrum for himself since admitting to doping before Aug 29 would likely mean a number of he AND KE's results could be rescinded / prize money recovered etc. he has already screwed his mate over - being honest will only make it worse. Moral dilemma... ?
  24. Its really not that complicated. he cheated and knew the consequences of being caught. he will be lucky to get away with only events from the date of his test being recinded as by all accounts his biological passport indicated systematic blood boosting for a period of time before that - hence targeted testing.
  25. 100% Some confused people commenting on here.
