  1. whichever one your less likely to get bored on....
  2. those that have heard them give good reports...
  3. KERS version 2014 is not going to be so micky mouse. But I hear ya - very regulated these days. its a catch 22 - I am old school and would love there to be a lot of lattitude for innovation - but then we would likely not see such a close spread of times as we do today.

  5. Pretty sure Force India have already confirmed Merc engines for 2014 and beyond... those Ferrari rumours were from last yr I think - been clarified since. Renault have a challenge - as you say they are apparently more expensive but they need more customer teams to stay viable in F1
  6. I'd argue the shortness of the stages are actually in his favour.... better suited to a short sharp attack... from what we saw earlier this yr - froome can generally chase down any attack given enough road - and more often than not he can then counter and distance himself.... But ja, I expect to see a different Alberto from those early encounters...
  7. LOL. Sounds like you are making apologies for Berto already!
  8. agree - seems he likes to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds... As I've said before - he needs to strap on a pair.
  9. One would think, but someone could go the other way as well and try land some early blows... Wonder if Berto has found some form? This is what he has been up to while we were watching the Giro...
  10. you might want to check these out... can't go too wrong at R750... comes with a helmet mount and battery extension cable... (mines on order)... http://www.cwcycles.co.za/sites/all/themes/cwcycles/custom/images/Sale%20icon3%20-%20sized.png http://www.cwcycles.co.za/sites/default/files/imagecache/product-land/product_images/icons/1200lums-bicycle-light111.jpg Bicycle Light 1200 Lums RRP: R 1800 Price: R750.00 Buy Now
  11. these aren't too shabby in the OP's range... http://www.cwcycles.co.za/sites/all/themes/cwcycles/custom/images/Sale%20icon3%20-%20sized.png http://www.cwcycles.co.za/sites/default/files/imagecache/product-land/product_images/icons/mavic-ksyrium-e11.jpg Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheelset RRP: R 5000 Price: R3 799.00
  12. this is not F1 - I am so over it.
  13. Agree on Uran - Cadel was on the ropes yesterday - I think he is happiest of all today...
  14. bumping - I'd like a bigger sample....
  15. No it doesn't count for testing in cycling... But just for you guys - I've added a 5th option.
  16. Ja I wouldn't exactly plan to go slow 11 months out, but, realistically, proabably will be... My main thinking for keeping with my own nutriian is I am using 32GI and would like something equally low GI to sustain me for the full day. Would only start taking Gu's into the run. do they have Gu Roctane on the course which is I think a bit lower GI than Gu Bru?
  17. or the bloody Agent?
  18. It's a tangled web, said the spider...
  19. haha thats what I was going to ask. Well so far you are the only one. Anyone else? Answers on a post card here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/125969-have-you-ever-been-tested-for-peds-at-a-cycling-event/
  20. So I reckon the Hub is a fair representation of the cycling community around the country. Let's get an idea of how much "random" testing is actually going on in our sport.
  21. I'd be very interested to know how many of us here (excluding those racing) have ever been tested at an event they were participating in as a fun ride.... Anyone? I'm not holdin my breath but maybe I'll be surprised....
  22. Aha - cheers - ok so there are 2 special needs bags - 1 for run and one for cycle - that makes sense. In that case I will be inclined to take my own nutrition as far as possible and top up with gu's. Will have to think about warm clothes - would have been nice to leave a jacket in the run special needs for just in case (as it gets later) - but not so much if you can't get it back if you dont use it...
  23. Re special needs bag - can someone explain exactly how much access you have to this on the bike and run? Think I heard you can only access it once during the ride - which seems stange to me? Also is it correct that family cannot give you warm clothes etc later on (for those of us who would be running well into the April night) so you would have to leave this in special needs bag too? (which would be fine as long as you can access it during the run...)
  24. Sorry to hear man. Take it easy and get yourself sorted.
  25. that sucks man. Hope you recover quickly - still doing 70.3? I looked at the ocean swim series but the dates don't seem to align with my time in PE... All good for the 23rd though - have entered now.
