  1. You hit the nail on the head - he is THE anti KP. So humble and just lets his bat do the talking. # What a legend.
  2. Ja Nee... Me something like this: Swim 50%, Bike 75%, run 15%.... As soon as I up the run distance I seem to get aches and pains /sore ankles etc. So been keeping the runs short in an effort to get the ligaments etc acclimatised, did one 10+k run last week and now I'm sitting with a a sore ankle again.
  3. No it doesnt. max is max. If you go over that either you had the wrong max or your equipment is not accurate (dried contacts, interferenace etc).
  4. More to do with his competition in those 2 respective years... In 09 'Berto was still pushing out some rather unbelievable numbers.... In 2012 an off-form Evens was considered the next favourite
  5. Well what does zero tolerance mean? Teams are damned if they do damned if they don't. Sky put this stance out there from the start and whatever you think of the approach they are sticking to it. Plus the guys that own up now and bail are by all accounts being given a firendly financial parachute.
  6. haha I just had a standard 4 maths flashback earlier - amazing that some of that stuff did actaully actually remains in there somewhere... who would have thunk it.
  7. BODMAS?

    2012 94.7

overstated I think... Their split time calculator is still showing 97.4km...
  9. Yes but in so doing denied doping while at CSC.... And denied there was systematic doping by the team... As I said honest-ish rather than honesty.

    2012 94.7

Same here... D it is - sounds about right for a nicely paced 3hr (not too fast at the start pls chaps I take a while to build up momentum...)
  13. And what about Bjarne Riis? Bobby Jurlich was at pains to claim that he saw no systematic doping at CSC but he achieved by far his best results in that time period against confirmed dopers when he was supposedly clean.... Still lots of people protecting lots of other people. Honesty is more like honestish. That said I wish Armstrong would just spill the beans now - over this.
  14. Most? I don't think so. Guys still have much to loose by coming clean and I am still doubting if these confessions that are coming out are full or partial. Big respect for Bobby Jurlich anyway as I guess he could have continued to lie but its Sky have obviously made their position very clear so he was forced to make a big decision on which way to go on this and he made the right call. Most of the rest are keeping under the radar.
  15. Another thread.... and another repost of the sonic's confused cousin. yes that's just what we need.
  16. True - maybe not entirely willingly! If its a team instruction I reckon the fact the Giro route is a good one for him would have helped the team making that decison and also helped wiggins acceptance of it.
  17. The great chess doping scandal: http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/outrage-over-ivanchuk-the-great-chess-doping-scandal-a-595819.html
  18. I am also battling with the whole base fitness thing. When time is of the essance fitting in long rides at low HR are just not practical. What are the consequences of not having these base hours? I think I read somewhere it means you lose gained fitness quicker or is it in some other way limiting of your potential progress. sorry for the hijack but think its still on topic...
  19. less expensive lights for the same price come again?
  20. Wiggins has said this himself. Must say I am surpised (and impressed), I didn't think he'd do this willingly - but the attitude more than vindicates Froome sacrificing himself last year for Wiggins. Just hope Froome can bring his best form to the tour next year - should be fascinating between him and Berto.
  21. think I'm going to put in leave for that day...
  22. Look as we know Betsy was correct on her accusations, but I think she has and continues to make a meal of the intimidation etc. The direct link of anything she's said and Frankie refusing to get on a Ferrari program and him not getting a ride in 2000 is by no means clear (he was getting to the end of his career and could have jumped to another team if he still had so much to offer), and what is not mentioned in the public press hysteria is he was given a job as assistant team director the next 2 years. Hardly someone being ostracised. So the team looked after him. Nor is it repeated in the popular press that Lance offered him a ride again early in 2000 and Frankie turned this down. The quote used to suggest intimidation where Lance said to Frankie "By helping to bring me down is not going to help y’alls situation at all. There is a direct link to all of our success here. I suggest you remind her of that,” is actually a statement of fact, Hincappis' email to Frankie was in a similar vain although George also played the sympathy card in pointing out that all the guys livilhoods depended on Betsy toning it down. Anyway good for her she can get herself in all the papers now and say she was right all along, but I do still wonder if she was motivated by a sense or right and wrong or an intense dislike for Lance. Its funny that they continued to go to dinner with the armstrongs and the like through all these years of intimidation, and the only whistle she blew was of Lance's admission in the hospital - not her discovery of Frankie's EPO or all is team mates ongoing use of drugs while Frankie drew a salary from the team. Anyway I am sure Lance may have played it rough at times and may have said "hurtful" things - but in context of a circle of people who all knew what was happening, and one person is relentlessy trying to take you down - is that really surpising?
  23. very good point... I doubt it will be incumbant on the tour organisers to try go after the team mates as Armstrong would have shard by tradition rather than any obligation - but it does raise a very valid moral question and open yet another can of worms. What precedent is there for dopers returning prize money - what happened with Contador and Landis?
  24. You mean in a car or on a bicycle? definately a nicer (and quicker) drive than going on the N2 which takes you inland via Grahamstown. That said both roads have apparently taken a real hammering with the floods etc. N2 is closed and R72 is open to light vehciles with some stop/go's. Sure by Xmas holidays the R72 should be sorted though - there are usually a few patches with potholes on the EL side of Port Alfred but not too bad.
  25. Good stuff! I am recruiting all comers but especially those who might not make me look too slow on the run Saw a tweet earlier that they are now down to less than 100 entries left...
