  1. No, not bad at all. Tires, it seems, are a bit of a fashion statement. I remember when the ibex first arrived everyone thought they were amazing. It's been a while since I last used a Ibex but I remember them being pretty good.
  2. Wolfgang in Woodstock is pretty good. He and his partner, Robert (who is based in Durbanville) run a business called xtractIT. DM me for contact details. Reasonable, quick, close and no issues with work.
  3. I had this problem with my previous phone, huawei p9. My current huawei p20 Pro is totally fine with strava.
  4. The specials/Winehouse version is amazing! Roddy radiation is one of my favourites. Today's song of the day though... https://youtu.be/BFkYoT5Gezo

  7. Started season two of 'The Boys' this evening. What a great show.
  8. Thanks for confirming that. I've been using the citric acid, I'm not even sure if my machine has any aluminium parts!
  9. I'm no help here, but very interested as to why you wish to avoid citric acid. I ask as I'm about to descale my machine with citric acid! I have about 50kgs of the stuff!
  10. So in other words if you're on an ebike you gotta wear a mask... ????
  11. Depending if you driving to the start or not, perhaps start at bottom of pats track, ride up it, do the lions head loop, try the granite trail (slick rock on strava) and then bomb down pats!
  12. So while out on my bike yesterday I was thinking about my pre-ride coffee. First cup was made using a 6 cup induction moka pot and the second was made using a 3 cup standard aluminium moka. Definitely find I prefer the stainless steel induction one, although the other one is also good. Got me thinking, does anyone else have a preferred moka pot? Also, how do you make yours?
  13. R126 on an R80k bike! That's the lowest premium I think I've ever seen. Is that comprehensive cover? Who is the insurer?
  14. Best cover ever, Led Zeppelin's Stairway to heaven. Much better than the Spirit version.
  15. My previous combo was plenty grippy and still pretty fast. Maxxis aggresso front and back. 2.5 up front and 2.25 rear. EXO casing as a compromise between weight and confidence over sharp rocks.
  16. Although I'm biased as a fan of old Japanese motorcycles, that is probably the most beautiful bike I've ever seen. Drool.
  17. Probably a good idea to keep the metro rescue number on hand as well. Especially useful in the case of serious incidents! METRO - 0219370300
  18. I've got a hario, never use it. It takes about 3 hours to grind enough for a single espresso... Is this normal, or am I doing it wrong?
  19. The sugarloaf loop at Kromriver looks like fun. I've never done it as we generally ride the Sandrif trails. If you ride Sandrif, be sure to do the black loop. Another fun trail is the path that runs parallel to the pass just before Nuwerus camp site. It's pretty fast and loose. The other fun trail to ride is the old Uitkyk pass. Get dropped at the top and picked up at the bottom of possible!
  20. If you like New Balance, try the Hierro 5s. I tried the summit koms and the hierros, found the latter a far better fit. Been very happy with them, in their 10th month and no issues. For me, a heavy runner, who runs the most technical trails, 10 months is exceptional.
  21. Just saw this tweet! Just because we can ride on the Oudekraal property, doesn't mean we should be compromising access elsewhere. (not that maintaining access is the only reason to treat people with respect)
  22. Px200 was R35 000, I couldn't get a price for the 150 sprints which is my preference (in the absence of the 180 super sport). I paid R35k a year agofor my low mileage 2007 bmw dakar for comparison.
  23. Factory Road, Salt River. I was on my way to Buco and stopped when I saw all the Vespas! Didn't make it to Buco...
  24. Thought I found heaven today... Then I took one for a spin. I've always had a thing for Vespas, Ive owned two 150 sprints, and loved them. But having ridden motorcycles for the past 20 something years there is no way I could go back to Vespa!
