I second that! It is a great route, tougher than most of the other rides out there. That said i did do last on New years day with a moerse hangover! Next time i want to do both the long route and the short route - anyone done this?

What does he want to use it for? Anthem is a great bike, as is the Trek.

I'd go with a mix of real food; like bananas (with nutella sounds good) boiled eggs and cold potatoes, and hammer recoverite. I have found that recoverite works exceptionally well for me.

I second Chubba's Rock n Roll Gold - but then i'm a stones fan! Best lube i've used, Olympic cycles stock it. Not sure who else.

HI Chubba, That works out to about a 3hr ride, so you'd be about 2 hrs too short, probably best to do the mast twice.

It is worth doing the Petrus se Brand route both up and down, starting at Garden of Eden, riding up to Diepwalle, and then back to Garden of Eden. Its about 50 km of great riding - woth it just for the short but fun single track at the end as you approach the N2.

I would advise that proper preparation involves at least three weekends of back to back (Sat/Sun) five hour rides. That is if you want to enjoy the W2W...

I'm wanting to sell my partners old hard tail. It's a well used Schwinn. +-11kg's, recently serviced fox f80 fork, mostly sram xo with an XT FD. Race face crank with newish front blades and cassette. Mavic crossmax wheels and avid single digit v brakes. What sort of price should i be looking at? Another option is to sell off parts. Just fishing for ideas at this point, will post pics when i am ready to sell. Any ideas appreciated.

I normally do the longer races, but i've only ever done the short distance in this event, love it! Will be doing the 27km again this year.

Last year at the Argus expo i chatted to a dude who was wanting to develop the lower slopes of Devils Peak as a 'tokai like' bike park, i think it is time for this! If access is via a wild card it wuld be great! On the issue of riding on foot paths, i do this all the time, knowing full well that it is illegal, in over ten years i have been bust once ages ago riding at night - buggers saw our lights but let us off with a warning! Point is we know it is illegal so if we get bust we can't really moan! the reality is that bikes do cause lots of erosion, look at TOkai, the other thing is that bikes go around corners fast and crash into walkers and runners!

Um sunlight is also a degreaser! and there is only one lube, rock n roller gold! The rest are just chain grease!

So the question is... do you explain this to people on the ride? I was so tempted to ask the nob on eastern boulevard if he realised that dropping **** on the road is littering? I decided to bite my tongue, almost crashed after swearing at some guy on the karoo 2 coast after he tossed his coke cup over the barrier coming down the pass. The guy on eastern boulevard was the first of many nobs throwing stuff on the ground, guys who do this should be reported and banned!

Kind of related to this, i'm thinking of selling my girlfriends hardtail. It is a medium Schwinn Moab, with fox fork, mavic crossmax wheels, v-brakes, XO RD and shifters, XTR FD, easton carbon bars, race face crank. What kind of price am i looking at - in ZAR or in nappies.
