  1. Cortisone... I've only ever had it injected into my elbows, but man, that stuff works!
  2. I'm really enjoying the aggressor on the rear. Can highly recommend it. Paired it to a minion up front and the combo works a treat. Probably better than my previous citius/canis combo.
  3. Not so sure bout them numbers... 20% rand depreciation does not account for 60% price increase. Methinks there may be a little bit of piss taking somewhere in the distribution chain.
  4. Hijack... Anyone know where I can get minions in 650 size?
  5. I think you missed the point of his post. He isn't questioning the value or benefit of angry training, just whether it qualifies as a sport. Is going to the gym a sport? That's like calling golf a sport...
  6. So after reading this ride report I got amped to try these trails for myself. We left the midget with the grandparents and convinced a mate to get in the action. We hit houdenbek first, last Friday morning. They don't really let day visitors ride the trails, but fortunately made an exception for us. To say we were blown away by the trails is an extreme understatement! Proper mtbing was the concensus. But little did we know what was in store later... We camped the night at sandrif in the southern cederberg. About an hour from farm houdenbek. Day two started slow, lots of coffee and rusks while the bikes defrosted, literally. As the day warmed up, so did the riding. The trails were fast and technical. Smiles all round. Probably the best riding I've ever done! Beware though, some of the the caution signs we read as speed up, only to discover later, some of them mean caution! We made the same mistake with the portage signs... Day three was super fun! It involved shuttle runs on the trail that starts at the top of the pass above nuwerus campsite. A great, fast rocky descent that has a convenient Road right next to it for the shuttle back up to the top. All in all three quality days of riding. Anyone looking for a three day biking adventure, this is it!
  7. What bottle cages were made for!
  8. So back in 2012 I went through this. I cycled up signal hill from above the military bases. Got to the top, tar road and turned right and ended up on a single track. No signage at all. After some lekker single track I was stopped by two rangers. The senior ranger issued me with a fine of R500 in San parks green paper Two months later in went to court. Not actual court, i saw a magistrate who dismissed the case. She laughed and made a joke that San parks issues fines on green pape. Hope your experience is as easy as mine was!
  9. Great pics! Which trails are these? I love the cederberg but have never really ridden there. We once road the donkey trail from pakhuis to heuningvlei which was cool, but not really single track. Are these the sandrift trails? If so, have they added some more single track?
  10. I did this today. Was a perfect day on the mountain! I've run all the trails before, but never linked them like this. It makes for an awesome route! If you run, this should be on your to do list! I hate to say it, but I'd rather run this route than ride my mtb...
  11. I've run the dhr on the front but the 2.5 version. Was as good as the dhf.
  12. How much of this is a real safety issue and how much is 'them' using 'our' stuff issue? I can't see how a trail runner going up single track is more dangerous than a cyclist going up single track. In my opinion, the most dangerous part about Vasbyt is the DH trail that runs parallel to the road which crosses the trail at certain points. It also seems like a bit of a storm in a tea cup, except for the large trail and tar groups, i see very few trail runners in Tokai. I would hate to see trails become one way only, it effectively halves the amount of trails to ride! (That said i spend more time trail running than riding at the moment...)
  13. Might not have been an airlift, i'd assumed that, might have been an ambulance that got to the patient. Was just curious as to what happened.
  14. Anyone know what happened? I heard a cyclist got airlifted.
  15. Hi, I recently got a new bike, it has a Fox RP2 shock with a boost valve, I set it according to sag, but it seems a bit soft. I pumped in about 200 psi. Is there a maximum psi for these kinda things, if so what is it? If you have experience with these shocks, i'd love some advice.
  16. It's not legal, but i have ridden up the jeep track from Constantia Nek, and then across the top to the top of Kasteelspoort riding on the old train tracks. Fun, but as mentioned illegal. I am very tempted to catch the Cable Car up and ride across to Maclear's Beacon and then down Smuts Track to the jeep track and down. But I reckon my days of breakin the law are over... It will be a great ride though!
  17. Not FRAIL loves elderly! Sounds a bit like Saville loves kids...
  18. WOW! We are so critical when a pro dopes, but no one bats an eye when an amateur rider wants to take dangerous supliments (sic)! Come on guy, train harder, eat less, like the rest of us! And remember, looking at yourself in the mirror and wanting to see better abs is a bit gay...
  19. I feel that it is a bit arrogant to tell another adult how to enjoy his chosen sport. Surely he knows the risks and has made a choice. Perhaps he left his lid at home? I always ride with a helmet, but if I were to leave it at home, I'd ride without it. Its funny majority of rock climbers don't wear a helmet and this is acceptable. I suppose different cultures. #
  20. Haha, I learnt how to do this the other day! You can either drill it out, as mentioned. Or what we did was to hammer in a Torcx head bit, then when that bites, you can turn it out.
  21. With the new Pygas the real dirty kinky **** starts!
  22. Yip, the honeymoon is over! But wait for it...
  23. My bad... Should have read the entire thread! Which Julbos do you have Dirtbreath?
  24. Anyone else tried Julbo? Their zebra lenses are great, photocromatic but only go from class 2 to 4, so not clear, but great for daytime riding.
  25. For R2k you can have my well looked after 1957 Royal Enfield.
