  1. Ah no! Gutted for him. He was riding insanely well. Was so cool to see him up there and on the highlights each day
  2. Racing in March still?
  3. No statement has been released. I'm guessing whatever they do they will probably have to waive the qualification criteria. I'm not actually sure whose rule the qualification criteria is. If its theirs, then easy to just make next year an exception. If its an ASA rule then they would have to get approval from them I suppose.
  4. I just laughed so hard imaging that. One way to replace the sand in your filter.
  5. This could be me (doing something silly). But after missing CT marathon in 2019 from a knee injury, and then both Two Oceans and MUT earlier this year with COVID I might do something silly come 5 December. Still thinking, there's the smart choice, and then there's the choice I'd prefer.
  6. The joys of running....I'm supposed to be running DNT in two weeks time....just about haven't run at all in the last two weeks because of a knee injury (inflamed fat pad). Did 4km on the treadmill last night as a test (no downhills which aggravate the injury)...hoping that I can at least run a couple times before the race (and that my knee survives 6 hours of trail running!!!)

Ya I've also really enjoyed this year. Absolutely no facts to back it up, but it felt to me like there were more battles and overtakes during races this year. Wasn't a Franky fan before but his last couple interviews have definitely made me a fan now. Comes across very well in post race interviews
  8. Looking at getting some of their trail shorts and I see I am pretty close to your sizing Height : 172cm Weight : 68kg Waist : 76cm So I'm thinking a small?

I'm happy. He's ridden well, seems to conduct himself well. Good on him I'm also happy to see Suzuki back up there. Great to have more than one manufacturer winning races

Apologies if this has been shared already
  12. Its crazy hey. Did you see how far ahead of 2nd place he was? Around 16 hours I think. Mental.
  13. Yup...its much cooler for us on TV to see
  14. Haha, of course he is. Don't get sucked in. 10,000m is around 25 laps. He ran 26min. Means that even if there was only the pace clock at the finish he would still see his pace every minute or so and could easily make adjustments. For sure the lights help, but that's not the reason he broke the record. Besides, by the time you are aiming for a WR you know what WR pace feels like. Eyes closed.
  15. Awesome thank you. Looks like the UD ones are in the sweetspot. Really appreciate effort of a comparison.
  16. I think that will most likely be the plan
  17. NOOOOO. I've just placed an order and had to pay delivery because it was under R450 I should have gone through their sports stuff properly
  18. Thanks. Found 1 UD one left on TrailShed.co.za but its R300 + R100 delivery. I just can't wrap my head around that. They also have 1 Hydrapak left that also looks like it has a larger opening but that one is R495!!!! At those prices I'll carry an empty normal bottle in my pack, use that to mix, and just squirt the mix into my soft bottles. (or just mess powder and live with it)
  19. Anyone know where I can get a soft flask (500ml) with a larger opening? I know Salomon has one (but no online stores have stock that I can see). Any other brands you know of? I have the First Ascent ones and they are perfect except the openings are small and I want larger ones for a race I'm doing in December. I'll have to remix my powered mix at an aid station and the larger opening would make this easier.
  20. the way I've seen people spray themselves with sachets during a race 1.5L isn't nearly enough.
  21. I'd be over the moon with no plastic sachets at races. Runners have shown that they are unable to carry an empty packet until the next aid station so I'm all for carry your own / provide bulk containers you can refill from
  22. He replied almost immediately to the query I sent through their website and said the same. "all of our coffee are not older than 5 days I roast fresh daily to make sure of the freshness But I agree I will make a plan to add roasting dates to the bags".
