  1. It gives the word ugly a totally different meaning.
  2. Hey guys - We recently bought 2 ceiling fans and had them installed. No problems there. Now, these fans come with a standard 4 speed wall switch but for the main bedroom we opted to fit a remote control unit instead. However, this RC unit has only 3 speeds and the lowest speed is not as low as we would like. Would it be possible to install the standard 4 speed wall switch along with the RC unit? I guess that would give us 12 speed as a result but would it be ok for the fan motor and RC unit or would it be an issue? Thanks
  3. I was almost put off because I thought it was an e-bike. Interesting gear system. Beautiful bike, congrats!
  4. I could watch these videos all day long. I wish I had a job like that. Check out the bikes and the tools!
  5. We all have days like that. When it happens to me I just think... "just get on the bike and go out there for an easy ride, just to enjoy".
  6. Mine also running smoothly now. Unity and Xcode builds feel a bit faster.
  7. Installing mine right now. Installation just as slow as Windows 10.
  8. Thanks for sharing. Nice to read something positive in these days of negativity. I'm not going anywhere. South Africa adopted me 24 years ago and even now that I find myself unemployed at 57 I believe there are plenty of opportunities.
  9. Just received my order. Great products and service. And thank you for the freebies
  10. Hey guys! I don't know if this has been discussed or if someone has a better solution for buckled rims with a flat spot. I came across the video below on YouTjube on how to fix a damaged wheel flat spot with a home made tool and decided to give it a try. I actually managed to fix the wheel to a very good extent. If you guys want to make your own tool follow the Aussie's instructions. Builder's warehouse only sells piping in 2 to 3 meters length, but I found a piece of 150mm steel plumbing tube in the plumbing section and it does the job. I also couldn't find the 25/32 mm T connector at builder's so I had to use 25mm x 1/2 T on both ends. It will work. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oGWgSKAjw0&t=769s
  11. OMG... that was funny PIÑATA TIME!
  12. I just tossed my basic computer away. Not interested of knowing anything anymore. As you said, just enjoy the ride.
  13. Bingo! It was the B screw. Good eye! Thanks, man!
  14. I'm starting to think that was the case!
  15. @Chris, that length looks very much like mine, thanks!
  16. Hey guys - My derailleur hanger broke this morning. It was my first ride with my brand new 1 x 11 setup. I wasn't even shifting to the largest sprocket when it broke. I was probably shifting up to the 7th or 8th or maybe 9th but not higher. Fortunately I was climbing and although the derailleur got caught between the spokes no other damage was done. I managed to get a new hanger at Cajees for the modicum price of R350.00. So, I've put everything back again and just want to make sure the chain length is right. When I installed the new chain 2 days ago I only removed a male link, which was missing the roller so I couldn't use it with the quick link, plus it correspondent female link. So, my chain is 115 links long plus the quick link which makes it 116. Is the chain too short? Herewith attached photos with the chain on the smallest and largest sprockets. Any other reason why the hanger broke? Metal fatigue maybe? The bike is 5 years old. Thanks! P.S. And I would like to thank Dave Marshall for his advice this morning when I pushed my bike all the way to his workshop.
  17. Thanks, guys. Just pushing the pistons back and re-assembling seem to have done the trick.
  18. Ok, so I'm busy upgrading my old Deore groupset (including brakes) to full 1 x 11 SLX. I transferred the old components to my wife's old bike which had Avid Juicy 3 and Deore 3 x 9 drive train. The Juicy's rear brake had developed an "on or off" kind of behaviour. No modulation and almost no lever travel, so good opportunity to replace them. However, now with the Deore's in place and for some strange reason the same brake lever feeling and behaviour also presents. What I've noticed is that the rear rotor on my bike is 1.5 mm thick as opposed to 2.mm on my wife's bike. Also, I haven't replaced the pads so in theory there should be a little bit of room there that should make up for the difference in rotor thickness, right? The front brake is good as it was previously with the Avids. The Avid rotor thickness is also 2mm but so is my front Shimano rotor. (??) When I had the Deore brakes on my bike I could feel the rear lever travel and proper modulation, but now they feel very different. What's your thoughts? Rotor compatibility? Glazing? Rotor position to the caliper?
  19. Exactly my problem. I couldn't even find a screw to try and take the whole frame apart and re-fit.
  20. I tried a mullet but it didn't work. Next time I'll try with a mallet :-)
  21. Oom was unavailable at the moment :-) I thought of piece of wood strong enough but couldn't find one around. So I had to think out of the box and because I the jack was part of the solution I thought, hey, might as well bring the wheel too!
