  1. Sheeeeeet!!
  2. MVDP going OK for his first race back!
  3. The two in front held on well given that they have 5,000km in their legs today and the peleton so flying!
  4. JV fully committed!
  5. Mechanical for Sagz.... Damn the boys have got their hustle on!
  6. Quite a few big names are out. Colbrelli, Alaphillipe, last year's winner, Bennett... Only 230kmn to go folks - better start moving towards to edge of your seat 🤪
  7. 26" means older bike and it probably has a "steep" head angle. A full 69er will slacken the head angle a bit and kinda bring it in line with modern geometry. Check the number of course. The big wheels up front will also eat lumps and bumps a bit more than 26/650B.
  8. More than a litre of fluids before the race sounds excessive. Not sure I could even stomach that much fluid before a race. 2-3ml of water per kg body weight in the 4 hours before the race should be fine. Avoid coffee as one of the previous posters said. I've found one is OK but 2 or more and it break au naturale time...
  9. The Revolt is a great bang for buck bike!
  10. 3T Exploro Race. Buy a second set of wheels and you have one bike for road and gravel.
  11. He squeaked in by a whisker - the Epic ban is from 1 Jan 2013 onwards - he was bust in 2012. They should make a special case for him not to attend though - he is the apex SA doper - proper omerta fuelled EPO drug cheat.
  12. Eh? Who have they let it?
  13. Well bowl my over with a feather - the the stat people DO know what they're talking about 🙂 Luckily Mørkøv can sprint AFTER he leads out and pin french boxers up against the barriers. Best lead out man in the world for the last few years! Super aware and constantly scanning and reacting. Amazing rider.
  14. If you use an payment supplier like Sumup you wait 6/7 days for your money.
  15. Well that qualifies for "Random Quote of the Day"!
  16. This thread sounds a lot like the Spruit thread. Theoretically if everyone acts decently then there shouldn't be any problems....
  17. Oh sweet jesus x2. I posted those exact rules in the "should ebikes be allowed yadda yadda page" along with a comment that said something along the lines of this: Eldron Posted February 22 After Danger Dassie's post and some thought I reckon ebikers at races is cool as long as they have their own category and don't use race chips/get a time/result.
  18. Ladies and gentleman I have a fan. Stalkerfan sure but given that he has been a fan for 6 years by his own admission I'm counting it! Bike + Motor = Motorbike. Whether you switch the motor on with a button or by slowing turning the cranks you get 250w or more for free right? They're motorbikes. If your ego feels better when you call it an ebike go right ahead.
  19. Oh sweet jesus. Did the winky face not give it away? Or the fact that it does 80kph? Of the fact that Chris and I were having a laugh about lugging a heavy e-commuter around the CTCT course? Or the fact that it does not, in fact, have any pedals?
  20. You were on the wrong bike! You should have been on this bad boy I have in the shop 😉 R90,000 and capable of 80kph! No wonder the cheapie single piston Tektro brake pads don't last....
  21. Thehub FTW! Just saved a member a few thousand Zars 🙂
  22. Understatement of the century 😆 When it goes SPROING it is really difficult to make it go unSRPOING.
  23. Everything you need will be in here :-) https://si.shimano.com/#/ That said you shouldn't have to disassemble it. Most of the time you can remove those little sputniks with patience and a sharp pick.
  24. That's quite a high risk/reward ratio! Do you go for the win to 3:50:01 and risk being banned or do you bank on a podium/top 10 at 3:50:05??
  25. Ask around - there must be someone who upgraded their left arm to a power arm and has a spare now. Or just buy a left side arm (assuming the right hand side is still good). Also check the bolts several times when installing the new crank arm. It's fairly common to hear that people only torque each bolt once. Torque both alternatively several times.
