No worries I got a bit worried when I saw your post. At least Joberg 2c are keeping the price increase at a fair rate.

2014 joberg2c will cost you R14400 per rider. Please correct me if I'm wrong but last year it cost R13500 per rider! Not sure where you get the 40% from?

I have been awake been awake since 4 this morning contempating life and I am still struggeling to comprehend that Burry is no longer with us. Burry was my Hero. He was also a Hero to thousands of other people as well. Our Heros always get up from a big fall or wipe out. They come back from and injury stronger than ever before... that is just what Heros do! I have a hole in my heart as my Hero can no longer get up! I had the pleasure of chatting to Burry twice and he was a fantastic person. For all his achievements, he was extremely humble and easy to chat to. He took the time to take interest in others. Charles, Cherise, Duane and the rest of the family, I can't imagine what you guys are going through now. Our prayers are with you!

He was and will always be such a legend. He did so much for our sport and his life gets cut short by a flipping taxi driver. He still had so much more to accomplish

There is a race starting at Groot Brak on the 30th Dec. I saw it advertised in the Bicycling Mag i think. Looking forward to doing that this year!

I went from a 26" to a 29er with the same ratios as yours and in my opinion there ie hardly any difference between the two on the climbs. I much prefer them 2x10. For me the 2x10 ratios are perfect. I maybe would have prefered a 39t instead of the 38t on the big ring.

I so badly wanted to ride and I did loads of training but I wouldn't subject any of my bikes to this. I know some of you have voiced different opinions, but that i just me. Instead of battling with the mud, I got to spend the whole day with my 4 year old boy.

Exactly. Next weekend we can do the MTN National Series Hilton Dirt Fest. That makes two great events in Pmb area in two weeks. They have the 45, 75 and 110km races.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I have just bought a new bike and there's no ways i am going to ride it in the mud tomorrow. I dont nedd the extra expense of replacing pads, chain and cassette so soon! XO cassette these days costs about R1800, not cheap!

I'm lying in bed listening to the rain coming down in PMB at the moment. Today is going to be wet, wet, wet! Think I will stay in bed tomorrow as well. It's such a pitty, for the past four years now this great race has had extreme weather. I was really looking forward to tomorrow, but i wont be stuffing up my new bike!

Warren, you now habe an excuse to upgrade your wheelset. Look at getting a set of Stans ZTR Crest or a set of American Classic wheels. You wont look back, they make a big difference
