  1. Didn't want my phone to get wet and muddy so don't have pictures to post... Haha Slippery Van Gaalens ride this morning was fun though. Cold. Wet. Muddy. But fun.
  2. Now we all can come for a braai and even phone when we are at the gate
  3. So who here in Auckland (and surrounds) are keen to join on MTB rides (road bike is coming with the ship ) on the following days ...I am available all day long... 31st May - 5th June

  6. If I cover all the distance on a MTB that I have done on a road bike the last couple of months I will be able to quit my job and go race road for a living ....if that answers your question Much easier spending 7 hours on a road bike than 7 hours on a MTB (and you can cover 3 provinces in that time) ...........ah man, wish I could go do that right now.
  7. What is your cadence difference between the two? Also do you work your arms more on the mtb than the road bike - like steering and gripping.. I have found, since I started road riding my MTBing became A LOT easier. I use to HATE climbs, now there is no hate and just going up (still slow, but not near the back of the pack anymore).
  8. Just a warning....I am not BIG on shopping, but I would really need to go. And maybe tips from lady ladies will be good for a change (because I dont really fall in that category) and your wife always looks beautiful (she is going to judge my lack of style and hate for make up I just know...hahaha)
  9. Friends with benefits?
  10. Packing some clothes last night left me wanting to ask here... to Wayne and Noli, have the wives found some nice places to shop for clothes....work stuff in particular - I need (not want).
  11. You know me..........I have already googled it this side (prices, routes, busses etc etc) and I have it all worked out...haha Knowing you, you just arrived and went "okay, what now" Didnt it say a route inside of the bus stop? The stop would have had a number or colour code on it to indicate the line/route....Dad and I took the buses in Auckland we we found it easy to use that time. *things one learns from travelling in different countries*

  14. Ah man! wish I was there to bake her a cool cake!
  15. Will go nicely with my helmet..
  16. I will never bug someone that time of night. I will get a shuttle thanks (I will have a bike box too)
  17. Only because you asked twice 15 Maurice Paykel Pl, East Tamaki
  18. I have only ran over that distance with one pair - New Balance 880 (was referring to road running.....yes I know this is a trail running tread, but I thought the people here will have road experience too) Both feet.
  19. SO I have been trying to run a bit again. I have no issue with anything under about 7km but as soon as I go over that I get burn under my ball of my foot under the big toe...anyone else have this problem? Or what can it be? I have been tested twice at different places a couple of years ago and they said I am neutral prognation, so don't know if that has changed or or.... I bought new shoes over the weekend (no didn't do a test again) so planning to go run this week sometime to see if it is still there, but just asking in the meaintime.
  20. good deal I think http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/poc-trabec-race-helmet
  21. Is the terrain rocky? or more sandy/muddy...or or ? I am running Ibex's front and back, but I call those my Hakahana tyres, so I have been thinking of something with less rolling resistance and maybe lighter (they are tough as nails, but just not if a easy smooth pedal)
  22. Flights booked. Arrival 30 May 21:20 Auckland, (Auckland International) Accommodation for the 1st month at Quest Highbrook (I choose that due to the walking distance from work = more time to do other things at 1st..........the other apartments would probably have been more 'livable' but was a bit further from work and the places they suggested in town, well was in town = traffic nightmare I guess) The biggest thing I am wondering about though..........which tyres are the okes running there on the trail bikes at this moment...hahahaha
  23. No, that was never the plan, well not since the end of March. I thought my thin wheel would have been on a ship already on its way to NZ, but due to some delays on my visa (now sorted) it seems it is only leaving coming weekend. (I also don't like the 'racing' scene for some reason....my heart rate goes too high )
  24. 31km 1150m Not nice climbing services like in KZN though, loose compared
