  1. Yes, they are indeed the same "standard"... Btw, you also get i-Spec "bracket adaptors" to fit Shimano shifters to Hope and Formula brakes.
  2. I suppose it's relative... to how much you love cycling... and how you measure "value" or "money/cost" in relation to this "love".... If I have to choose my "lowest value v.s usage/enjoyment" it has to be my FiveTen Minnaar's... you can wear them for an entire day's cycling... i.e enroute to venue, ride, back home... they are super cool, super comfy, super practical... http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/bikes-and-gear/clothing/shoes/1299513176108-ma3v01ccgdq6-399-75.jpg In terms of "value v.s super crazy love/enjoyment", not necessarily "low" price... but in the end I think you get more than what you pay for... it has to be my SB-66 Don't get me started on Eason Haven Wheels, Haven Stem, Haven Carbon Post and Bars... Oooohhh oooooh.... Ice-Tech Rotors.....
  3. BWHAHHAHA @ "overshot my budget"....... Don't most of us know ALL ABOUT that.....
  4. Very nice, how does it go? Only minor upgrade you could consider is some better brakes.... Otherwise that's a super sweet build.
  5. I recon White Factory 2012 RLC/Fit, Taper, 15mm is the way to go. And then as treatment for the OCD = http://www.slikgraphics.com/
  6. She has the same issue I used to battle with.... Fox Factory Series = White Fox Talas = Black She want's the black paintjob, but on the Tallboy you don't need 120/140mm of travel.... Talas is +300g vs. the 100mm RLC/FiT 29er or even the the new 100mm CTD.
  7. Lol, you guys are hilarious... I will not be held responsible, I warned her about XTR addiction... And G, when I met you, it was already too late for you..
  8. Just have to convince her that a white forks with Kashima coating wont be the end of the world...
  9. Well... just from the parts basket i'm involved with, And with the items already disclosed here, all I can say is that this is going to be one sick bike... Complete XTR drivetrain, shadow+ clutch rd, xtr ispec shifters.. Oooooh sick....
  10. R1's are the bomb, super light, awesome performance, bullet proof.... own 2x sets personally, have supplied many sets to mates, no issues. Easton Haven Carbon Bars, engineering marvel, no contest or equal. own 3 of them Look Quartz MTB Pedals, simply awesome.
  11. Not worth it, forks are heavy, brakes are heavy, cant mount your levers or shifters to road bars, not really possible.... Sell it and get a roadbike, or ride it as is, just get road tires
  12. oh yeah, and i carry a tjooop and a couple of parktool side wall stips/patches - never had to use them...(yet).
  13. I run actual tubeless tires (Conti's) on "real" UST wheels (easton haven), my weight is about 88kg's and I run front at 2.0 and rear at about 2.2, works really well for me....
  14. Not totally true, what you need to say is actual Tubeless Wheels + right Tubeless tires = less weight. You won't achieve the "less weight", if you are running after market strips, valves, sealant and heavier tires....
  15. Cool build, I love a one-of-a-kind build!!! What tires are those, they look "heavy and serious"...
  16. But mostly they are really good for saving your ass from pinch flats, and little thorns... Weight is not really a "true" benefit because sealant, tape/valve and/or UST tires are as heavy, if not heavier than tjoooop + rubber
  17. No one knows if tubeless wheels ever get punctures, because if they do you wont know... it's like when a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it really fall?
  18. Get your own thread or room boys... non-Pyga bro-love not cool! hahaha
  19. Crazy, just plain ridiculous! So, you now have to take pictures of you and your bike, while holding a newspaper to show the date, standing in the bikeshop, before you hand it over?
  20. That's what I thought, in my opinion, not that it counts for much, but a remote lock-out is rubbish... waste of time Edit... I will admit that it's more tricky and time consuming to set/adjust a FOX to be "just-right", i'm forever toying with mine.. but when you do get it dialed, then it's simply awesome. Reba is much easier to get "dialed"
  21. That's what I said... FOX 26" RLC is what you need, will be perfect for the in-between-er.
  22. What do YOU need remote lock-out for? hehehe.... please tell me
  23. The only thing I pass.... is knowing that I fail ALL of those....
  24. Hey G! 27.5 is 26" FOX Forks, or special 27.5 Forks - Rock Shox's not an option. I will stay away from a 27.5 forks, simply because you will pay a stupid premium for nothing, 26" Fox will do, 2011/12 will be perfect, RL/RLC - not the super expensive CTD's of 2013.
  25. Yeah bud, but you are as tight as a tiger! You have the time and the patience for looking... And you have self control, patience, and practical thinking... You dont suffer from "always have to have the best and most expensive syndrome"
