  1. Respect to you ous who ride these bikes. In a race yesterday ( was flying at the time) I snapped my rear derailer cable and front ring stuck so effectively rode as a fix for nearly 20 k of cracker singlle track. Just couldn't ride properly and got off countless times, What effective gear do you set them as?
  2. Trek Fuel EX9. Will even get some change
  3. I know squat about downhilling, not brave enough, but surely that things going to rip the anterior face of your shin to shreds if you toss it? Are all DH pedals like that?
  4. Just an example, arrived at bike park this morning, my riding mates were AWOL, one just had an anterior cervical discectomy so out for 4 months, other doing naf intervals in the gym, other looking for his dog. So arrived on my own, hooked up with the trail builder, and had the most awesome ride in a contained safe area, on sweet flowing great condition singletrack . All good till we rode past what I'm sure was a mamba. Then shower and off to work. Point is the 200 bucks per month I pay for whole family membership to me is well worth it given what's on offer at Giba.
  5. Try 5k upwards. Properly spensive game that thing. In for about 400 bucks a round. Great fun but costs zar
  6. Only ever had this current one. She's cracker. Its a term of endearment. Try it
  7. Costs a whack to maintain and build trails, no point in paying 10 bucks a ride then falling into dongas and weeds on the trails. Ultimately the customers who pay the money will decide if fair value or not. If so , will keep going back , and if not, they will be gone like last weeks pay. Personally I'm happy to pay to ride in a nice place, and a safe place where my current wife can go ride too.
  8. Nice. Careful you don't get chafed by your loincloth while running.
  9. One huge plus of living in warm water environs is we can swim a k or 2 in the sea in the mornings here, no worries about the wee percentage, and more fun than staring down at the black line for an hour. I imagine that's out of the question in CT?
  10. Agreed. Nothing worse than running injuries from too much too soon as a novice runner. That ITB gonna bite you for a long time afterwards. Also make sure your shoes are correct, can't be running in your old fishing takkies
  11. Right over left, under, pull ,over , pull. Bobs your uncle. One plain one pearl in the next lesson boys
  12. Common knowledge. Crotchet (actually crotchette) is the tiny area of padding on a roadies pants, while crochet is a refined form of delicate French knitting that roadies do when they not shaving. Thought that's grade 3 EMS in Cape Town.
  13. I'm worried you even noticed the "crotchet pillow". Think it's crochet actually.
  14. Hey bru,I can't explain the tech of why it works but it works beautifully. The ride on my trek fuel is so smooth and plush under braking. I actually only notice how good it feels when I ride my mates bikes that are made different.
  15. Eye Boh. Thought about showing this to my son, but his moms fun dial might go backwards. Probably be bad parenting.
  16. Eish. Imalini ?
  17. I once phoned the snake catcher cos I saw a huge mamba in my garage as I was moving a cement bag. Thick as my arm. Closed the door and bolted across the road. Dude said just watch the door and wait for him. About an hour later this lighty pulled in with his girlfriend, armed with big catching stick. I opened the garage from across the road and he went in. Fanned around for a while inside and then calls his chick, she walks out with a 10 cm long house snake around her hand and a big smile. They thought it was too funny to take my money, dude said I need to be a bit braver though. My neighbors still wind me up about it.
  18. Brad you studying medicine?
  19. Watch out for all the viruses being spluttered around the enclosed , humid spinning studio. Going to bite you those things. Safer to ride outside.
  20. Yebo, from cardiac arrest induced by first sight of the beast. No bite needed
  21. I wonder how many snakes have seen us riding past them without us knowing they there. Reckon plenty
  22. If I saw one of those in the bush he wouldn't have to worry about biting me. Be dead already.
