  1. At least this bugger not going to try and bite you. It's the mambas and cobras and puffers that were put on earth to frighten and kill people
  2. Wouldn't have a clue. But when you come to Durbs pm me and I'll take you round giba if you like. Lots of cracker rides that go out of the park boundaries anyway. Or mail Jason at giba office. He might have downloads for you.

  4. Just take a couple of plasters with you when you go next time.
  5. No brother, that's not going to work. Keep the red grips and hubs, but spray the bike black. Red sunnies and red and black helmet and you good to go. Styling is most important. Bike won't treat you well or go fast if it looks dodge
  6. I got a sexy red set on my mtb. They are cracker. Very comfy and stable. After a dirty ride I spray them with a high pressure cleaner and they come up as new. Best I've used. Get the red ones, much faster than the other colours.
  7. Agreed. Be very wary of longer stem, affects handling a lot. Only reason to go layback post is to get seat position correct on the correct size frame.
  8. I have a Thomson layback seat post on my Trek mtb, makes a huge difference for me. Took a while initially to get the setup right with stem length and seat position but now it's sweet. It's very individually specific. Go get it professionally done.
  9. Trek fuel ex9. Beautiful.
  10. 1 kg to spare. Hanging in at 79, so happy. Drank beer for the first team over 3 week holiday in July so happy. 1 month of solid intervals before hill2hill be perfect.
  11. Similar thing with a black mamba on the side of the road along a sugarcane field. Was putting in a solid interval up the hill, and looked up to see the thing in the road, about 2m in front.. Also had to check my shorts. Was already dead, been run over but still terrifying.
  12. Went to the Durbs screening. We (MTB mates and current wives) all enjoyed it. All left saying we can do that on our bikes, just dont want to. Seriously those boys can operate, makes the dropoffs that we ride look a bit naf. Hows the one jump over that cut off tree. Can bleed doing that.. Is that seriously the name of the theatre in CT ? Goodness me.
  13. Berg and bush is fantastic
  14. I find after 5hrs or so can't handle any more juice. Coke helps then. Much better since I switched to 32gi though. Small packets of cheddars also great
  15. Really stupid...... The other day I was coming home from work down Fields Hill (Comrades and Amashova Route) around 5:30 pm, saw this roadie dude flying down the hill, inbetween cars and overtaking trucks, nearly dark as well. I was doing 80 and couldnt catch him until half way down the hill. Also thought thats crazy but with a slightly more forceful adjective.
  16. Make sure it's vas once all put together. No fun going down a drop and having your seat slide down.
  17. Also a good idea to ride with a mate who knows how to use all the tools you carrying. Works for me
  18. Laugh off the pump, take a couple of bombs rather. Always take lube, not as an optional. Chain suck after you ride through a river and your lube washes off going to turn your fun dial backwards.
  19. Agree. No problem with the thing in your jersey, but always in the middle pocket, slides sideways otherwise. I have a cage on my mtb seat post as well but often bottle gets so much mud and crap sprayed up onto it that I can't drink out of it without stopping to take the lid off.
  20. Or Joshua's Bob.

    Maxxis

I have crossmark front and rear. Works for me. Flies on flats and climbs hundreds
  22. Yebo. All in there is a lot more than 20k if you link all the loops together but you have to know where you are going. Best to join others who know the routes. Pm me if you keen to organise a ride. From winkle to giba, say 2 and half hour ride, cup of tea and back home probably more than 4 hrs though
  23. Giba gorge also about 35 mins away from where you are. Full on bike park with sweet flowing single track and fully safe. Lovely restaurant , coffee shop for missus to chill at while you ride, and always ous there to hook up with to show you around... Def worth it if you got time.
  24. Must have been a hard knock. That's definatley Joshua. And he would never act as a GIRL.
