  7. Road bike or mtb?
  8. I ride a fuel EX8 and not sure how that differs from the superfly in geometry. I know 26 v 29 is different geo but I mean how you feel sitting on the thing. Although I did change the factory setup plenty when I got it. Layback seat post, different stem etc, so can't really compare. I just love the way it handles though, up ,down and sideways.
  9. I have always ridden Treks. Just love the geometry. Anthems are lovely bikes, but when I sit on my mate's Anthem X, justt feels too upright for me. So I would stick to the superfly.
  10. Biltong flavor cheddars. Take two packets in your pocket. When you can't stomach any more sweet stuff, they are the business.
  11. Of all the juices I've tried, find 32gi the best for me. I also have some red ambulance at water tables when I feel I need it and never caused me to blow. Agree with other posts, doesn't matter what type of fuel you using, when your intake is less than the reserves you use, going to hit the wall. It sucks when it happens. Always keep an emergency gu or gel to suck on if you need it.
  12. Polar service is cracker, and they will sort it if you post it to counter . I've done it a few times and always good. Battery though is easy to do yourself. Takes 20 sec.
  13. If riding or training is a chore, then it's not worth it. If you training for a specific event or race, get a partner, ESP one quicker than you. That helps to focus your mind. If you just training for training sakes, find a group or session that you enjoy or one that doesn't take time away from something else you enjoy. Cycling or training is not our job. Unless you a pro, and then if you haven't been training you gonna get fired
  14. That letter was written in 2008/9. Since then the entire beachfront area been overhauled, in line with world cup upgrades. Paved clean area stretches all the way from Moses Mabhida to Ushaka and it's really world class. Any day of the week, you'll find runners walkers bikers pram pushers rollerbladers skateboarders surfskaters cruising up and down, then stopping for a coffee. Granted not on new years day or boxing day, but any other day. Something special about riding loops along the beachfornt or running as the sun comes up over the sea. Next time you in Durbs, pm one of us and well take you along. If you can surfskete, even better. Been riding my sons surfskate at the beach recently and it's sweet. We missed out on those things as lighties. Had a few kids suggest to me that those aren't for old people .
  15. Found it. That's cool. Well done to them.
  16. Shaune Easy dude. Nobody knows about those charities when they chip 295 bucks for the entry fee. You obviously are privy to the initiatives, and they all sound great, but the avg entrant isn't. So to some of us the entry fee doesn't seem justified, and we might not come back to do the event. To some of us it does offer value and we will be back. Each entitled their own perception of value. Maybe marketing at entry point saying x rand of your entry fee goes to these charities would be nice.
  17. Easy bru. Durban is a kiff place. Where did you go or stay that was ***?
  18. Also no race has a right to a sponsor. Sponsorship is given by a supplier because they feel the exposure they get and longer term revenue generation is worth the investment that they make. The event can do all they like but if sponsor feels they not getting a return then they gone like last weeks pay. I also imagine as a generalization, event sponsors are harder to come by as there is just less spare cash around.
  19. See they also have gated communities where this fella lives with a guard at the boom gate.
  20. Now that's proper.
  21. I live on the route and done plenty of these before, so no transport issues or numbers collection issues. However I didn't ride this year mainly because of cost of entry. Kids were keen to do the short version so if we all entered would have been a whack. So we watched front ous breeze by and then had a braai. Good day out. Got to pick and choose these days
  22. How do you say look ma no teeth in Spanish?
  23. Your bad. Should never dump anything on your underwear
  24. Already got a skidmark on the hub. Buttrash?
  25. Don't even try. Just hand them to your wife. She'll know what to do. Mine would throw them away . Why are you skidding on your bum anyway? Surely your knees or elbows would take most of the skid? :P
