  1. beside your nuts.... Try your luck.. Know there is a spot here in Saltriver, Voortrekker rd that does alu welding. done some work on my Sail Boat. Work look quite prof done. Good luck
  2. On the knee issue. May be get a bike setup done.
  3. Using Renegade 29x1.95 S-Works infront and rear Renegade 29x1.8 Control. Going well in all conditions. Fast and good enough trac for me. Fairly light, fast roller (low rol resist) and lbs stock them at a good price.
  4. Good.... I think its the combination between rider and bike. The amount of experience you have on that bike. Its what you feel comfy on. Uphill I was flying with my Giant XTC 26" Carbon at weight of 9,4 all up. With My Scott Scale 29 Pro I'm slower, bike weight 8.8kg. 26" bike as like 29ers differs from each other. Being Geometry and components (groupsets and wheels/tyres and .. and.. ) Ie. If I rode my Scott 29er with a cheaper, say x7 or groupset it would have an influence in shifting, pedaling, the entire ride will differ from having xx and a rotor crank ect. Bringing all the variables in play with influance a ride on the same frame. Now how about wheel sets and bike setup?
  5. Hi, the Scott scale 29 is a very nice bike. I don't see changing from a hard tail to duel is a upgrade but more a preference. I personally ride the Scott Scale 29 Pro (customised). Awesome bike. My view - see if you can test ride a 26 and 29 duel and make a decision.
  6. I'm in Cape Town, would like to know who to avoid.
  7. Try a Stoppie..... lol

  11. Told you.... whatch out for those monkeys in the Toy's.... Fortuners..
  12. Joh... ok. dependes on those rocks..... lol. Sorry, cant help. Dont know the geo of that frame. Ride a hardtail. Nothing change while riding.
  13. Think about this. What ever you gona do to this chap, if you seen doing it you will get you in the crap. What ever you say, is hear say at the mom. ( dont get me wrong, I'm on your side here) Wount mean a bit in court.. you weren't injured. Word of advice; .. if you wana f this oke up.. just do it. Dont advertise how you going to.. who you are ect. ect. Just do it and shuta f up about it. Wear a Badaclava...use a baseball bat... he wount know where its coming from and think twice before messing with anybody again because he doesn't know if he will get bliksemd again. O, ya , I have been in that business.... leave it at that. Btw... Sportman's should have some bats..
  14. Sorry to hear what happend. See this every day while in the car or on the bike. Not much you can do, unless ending up in the crap yourself. All I can say is.... proudly SA... and by the way... have you chap see Toyota drivers.... Fortuner's .... the must be fortunate they havent flip them over the way they drive.
  15. Round about the 70k mark

    Cycle Lab

Bought a pair of gloves from Cycle Lab end March 2012, week ago found the seem is getting "undone", took it back to Bellville branch on Monday 30/4/12, said they must speak to rep, will replace Thursday (today). Let’s see. As for service in Bellville, was attended every time I walked in. Lab in Town - not much to say.... As for WE - have allot of respect for that man. Helped me and gave a lot of his time in design of my 29er. NOW... If it is service you want you will vissit a shop in Durbanville. Hidden somewhere between Mica and some pub. Cycle Funatic. They have their Sh@t together boys and girls. (Mind that word.) Go give them a try. just my 2c.
  21. Sorry but I don’t tip these chaps. (I do feel sorry for them, could have been me or you standing there, but for the grace of God..) I know times are hectic but; 1. I pay insurance if something should happen to my car. 2. I've passed my K53 and can park my car. (Does he have a valid drivers licence?) This is what happened... My wife and I went out one eve. Parked the Landy in parking where there some of these "security guards" watching over cars. After our wonderful eve we can back and paid this chap some money. I walked around my Landy just to find the spare missing. +/- 8.5k. org 18" mag wheel Asked the guard what happened and he said he didn’t see anything, told him this is impossible since he was here, and then he said that there was a bakkie that parked behind my Landy for a while and then left. He didn’t "investigate/ go and look" what so ever. Didn’t ask them anything nor take reg of their car. Don’t see any need for them.
  22. BUT you are in Africa. Whatchout for the Lions.... All fine, I understand where you coming from and I agree with you. The road is long and changes happen.. Slowly, but they do, but until all riders are on paar and clearly marked signs are on trails, and under stood by all riders. Ride with caution. See on the next DH...
  23. What the confusion?? Rider going up, rider’s coming down in the same path Approach with caution or sh@t will happen. And yes, I read the rules of Trail ride intern. And Yeah... I do agree with them but dit the other riders read it too? Will the honour those rules? I'm not gona injure myself and others because "I was right and you were wrong", "didn't you read the rules" and so on. And so on. Once you been in an accident, it’s too late. You will be stuffed, your bike shot. This is my approach and tomorrow I will ride, the day after and day after that. Because I respect that little piece of single track where everyone paid to ride.
  24. I also enjoy a DH run, but keeping in mind that this is "now" a route where traffic is Bi Directional and been used by beginners (enthusiasts) Your so called weekend warriors/wanna be and "pro's" Common senses tell me every one should take caution. People (kids, yours, and mine) can get hurt. I've ridden many rides and ya, it’s a pain if you can’t pass if you faster stronger the chap in front of you. I am only trying to contribute to this threat; we are here to joy this sport. It’s a sport where the entire family can participate; I would hate to see you or me coming down killing a person or kid. Once again I can only think and if I may say, a ST like this should be approached, being up or down with caution. Respect the situation, respect each other, and enjoy the ride.
  25. ...depend who is outa control... I'll will get outa his way.. lol Any single track where Bi directional traffic occur, downhill rider should take caution (not the balls to the wall approach) Single track is there for all to use. Common decency what it boils down to? A person swearing in general doesn’t respect himself not to mention those around him. Who died and made him god. ie. When stopping at a four way intersection before the next chap who wants to cross your path and that chap just jump the stop sign. Serious lack of respect to law, himself and fellow citizens. (Self centred) See these things happening daily.
