  1. Just heard some very disturbing news and don't know how accurate it is. TNT1 would you please let us know as soon as you get any news... :-(
  2. BigH on a roll, folks. He must be having a real **** day in Gabon. Or wherever he's landed up in...!
  3. Derogatory? Nah. You're just overly sensitive after I pointed out your dumbass comment about forks. My point was not an emergency repair as you are now suddenly talking about, but a replacement tandem specific fork from the agents. Yep. I'll grow up when you do, oomie...

  5. Just heard that Cannondale are bringing out a racing tandem at the end of the year. Should be interesting. And, no, Big H, a tandem ain't always just a tandem.
  6. No. A fork ain't a fork. The Matrix ones are a really funky aerodynamic one that match the bike. The one from your steel framed dikwiel would look strange. Even in Nigeria or wherever you are.
  7. They are quite popular in the racing bunch at the moment. Very sexy and the guys riding them like 'em. I have not heard any complaints. Both mixed and men's tandems ride them, and they handle the abuse. Only issue might be spares. When Jaco & Nicolene broke a fork at the Berge en Dales there were no spares, but at least the agents made a plan by giving them one off a display unit. But that was a freak occurrence....
  8. Loving Paris-Nice at the moment!
  9. Jeez - I presume you mean Allister Scott? I had my butt kicked severely by him & Damien in many a tandem race. One of the really nice guys on a bike. Strengths, bru. Thoughts and wishes with you.... :-(
  10. I see they quote no references any where for these important scientific studies. So once again it's pseudo-scientific BS with no proof...
  11. I really hope they are selling at hugely inflated prices to make me feel like it's worth it...
  12. I'll be quite outspoken here: a lot of people who would like to ride (me included) will be in C T for the Argus. The date is really daft....
  13. ROAG is great if all you need is a club for a license, but if you're looking for anything more, you're out of luck there.
  14. I did last year's joberg2c on zero training. I just did my normal morning road rides and took it easy on the race. As long as you ride intelligently (i.e. don't push it) all you need is good base. Lots of training just helps you go faster easier, imho.
  15. I'm with Cycle Lab - the misses is with Club 100. The Lab is more competitive, Club 100 more social. Cycle Lab has brilliant hospitality at the bigger races (both road and mtb) and also has more support during events like the Epic and Joberg2c. Club 100 has hospitality at the really big races and some of the smaller ones. Oh, and the Lab gives a Ride subscription. The wife is busy reading mine...
  16. After reading the thread "Should i buy a gun?" (sic), I thought it would be appropriate to post this article on another way for us Hubbers to treat each other: http://unarmed.shlomifish.org/909.html Let the love begin!
  17. I love my oats, but on the days it's not available, I use bfast. Itcs like pronutro, but smoother and creamier...
  18. You won't see many of these in the A bunch: http://www.reghardware.com/2011/02/28/review_nokia_dc_14/
  19. Yeah. I must agree. It took big cajones for CellC to sponsor this event. I hope they stay on board for next year so it has some stability in planning it did not have this year.
  20. I got the tip to close up small cuts on my tyres with superglue and used it on the tyres for my Carnival City race this morning. This "tip" has been discussed on The Hub before. Since superglue requires oxygen to cure, it would seem that even though it looked like it had cured, some in the tyre had not. On inflating the tyre, this came into contact and chowed the tube. The result was a flat 45kms onto today's race. A nasty little section of tube had become brittle and ruptured. My fault 100%... So my recommendation: DON'T USE SUPERGLUE TO FIX TYRE CUTS. DO NOT LET IT ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR TYRES!!! The cheapest experience is someone else's. Here's some for free.
  21. The fact that it actually happened. I was very sceptical it was even going to happen, and am very happy to say I was comprehensively proved wrong. Apart from stage 2 ('nuf said) I watched all the racing and it was fab. The organisation was a little amateurish at times (is it unfair to compare it to the TdF, TDU or Giro?), but I am sure 2012 will be even more of a humdinger! Let's hope this year's lessons are well learnt. I'm counting down ready....
  22. Geez. My wife wouldn't even buy me a tube! Luvverly!
  23. You go, boyo!!!
  24. I don't want to ride over them in my car. But leave some 29er tread marks on them, I would. It's been said before: cyclists are their own worst enemies.
  25. Here's my take on why I would like to ride over bloody cyclists: I was on my bike coming back past Jeppe Quondam in Bedfordview last Sunday when I observed three cyclists idling along (probably at their top speed) hogging the whole road with a line of cars stuck behind them. The cars could not pass due to oncoming traffic, so after some while and some hooting these tossers finally gave enough space for the cars to squeeze past. By this time I had caught up and as I passed, they moved out again, forcing me to overtake on the wrong side of the road. ****ing idiots. And there are people here who don't understand why motorists hate cyclists and condone this sort of behaviour!?
