  1. You got it wrong, you should make the chicks check you out with Sidis, lycra, smooth legs, a river of sweat, and a camelbak on the spinning bike
  2. always stretch before and after training, eat whey protein just before bedtime and add some glutamine when you can feel your legs are sore
  3. - spinning bike slow cadence - big resistance 4min sitting 1min standing, ultra resistance 4min sitting 1min standing, mega resistance 4min sitting 1min standing, godlike resistance 4min sitting 1min standing - all this x3 or x4 - rowing machine 5000m, set the units to watts, increase your average wattage goals as you get stronger - weight training, especially legs and stomach crunching
  4. Selle groep, selle bikes, selle tyres, die dice is aan!
  5. I beg to differ about the Ikon, don`t make me tell JanMTB on you. I mounted an Ikon Exo 29er November last year, it was so easy to set up on Crest rims only a floorpump was required. It has seen some long miles and abuse and probably 50 thorns, just pull out the thorn it seals so quickly no inflation required. It is still going strong today (only on the front) just had to topup with Stans once. The tread looks still good for more than 1000km. Wearwise it will outlast 3 Racing Ralphs. The Ikon Exo is magical. I think you tried the non-Exo, and as far as I know they seat easily too.
  6. It`s the sidewall of the x-King, the normal and even the protection version (not talking about UST), tread is still new then the sidewall just falls apart. I saw it happen to my friend, then I researched it online, rice-paper sidewalls, its like it wears out quickly and rips, or it just rips when still new.
  7. I`m in B! Not too shabby for a BergBok! I estimate the total climbing for the 60 to be +-1200m.
  8. You pay top dolla: http://www.buycycle.co.za/buyparts/wheelsets-mtb/american-classic/american-classic-race-29er-wheelset-american-classic.html Stans Crest wheelset = R5k.
  9. Where can I get these for how much?
  10. I would go for that R20k Merida @cyclelab with Dura-Ace and Falcrum wheels. Or just mount some Schwalbe Marathon Racers tubeless on you mtb and drop the roadies. Joining the roadie crowd....welcome to a new world of pollution, traffic and death just 1 meter away. Saw this for 20k @cyclelab MERIDA SCULTURA EVO DA http://www.cyclelab.com/products/MERIDA%20SCULTURA%20EVO%20DA%20(2012)%20-%20ONLINE%20SPECIAL!.aspx
  11. Lean into the corners more, just as the corner starts, you must almost fall into the corner and then catch yourself with the bike. Also, a shorter stem helped me a lot.
  12. When people say a 29er does not do well in technical single track stuff they are just talking nonsense. If the 29er wheels are heavy it will accelerate slower out of tight turns, that is true, it might have a slightly wider turning circle, that is true, but I find my 29er is magnificent in single track and technical terrain, and as for the rest of the terrain (normally 98% of what I ride), it is just superior. I can highly recommend a 29er with good wheels, best will be to buy the bike with good wheels, and that`s why I like that Silverback.
  13. I want a hardtail with a 29er back wheel and 650b front, and I want a 29er dually, and I want a 26" 140mm travel bike.
  14. Giant anthem
  15. Mud-wise its gonna be a better than the previous few weekends.
  16. No it can`t be, Franks one got a puddle next to it.
  17. Allow the all knowing BergBok to inform: 17. What are the Provisional starting times? 75 km - 08h15 60 km - 08h20 42 km - 08h40 30 km - 09h00 15 km - 09h20
  18. How many 26ers were there in the front bunch of the Epic? I rest my face
  19. I`m not sure if a 650b will have enough space at the back wheel on the Dale, and then it will lift your bb just a bit. Why limit yourself to these 2 bikes. I think you should go 29er, they are fast, the entire front pack of the Cape Epic was on 29er. I thought the Pyga was good till I saw that you can get a Santa Cruise 29er frame for 11-12k, so the Pyga is overpriced at 16k. I think you should consider a racy 29er, like the Scalpel 29er.
  20. I also liked the Indurain era, with the crazy maniac Djamolidine Abdoujaparov taking the sprint finishes.
  21. Very good alternative for mtb if you set the resistance very high. In the spinning classes the trainer always looks at me funny cause my cadence is always like x5 times slower than everybody else.
  22. Stay away from the X-king, very weak tyre, go for Maxxis Ikon Exo or Monorail UST, these are much better options than any Conti.
  23. I think that a true racer will want to win as many TDF as he can, I do not like this "he will have his chance later", it is the TDF! You must try and win everyone you can if you can!
