  1. Remember the girl that was mowed down by a taxi on purpose. I don`t know where it is that taxis are so careful and drives so well, from what I have seen with my own eyes, many of these taxis drive extremely carelessly. You never got hit by a taxi? Well then they must be safer drivers than the rest! Who are we kidding?
  2. I have seen how they drive. Motorbikes and bicycles do not exist for taxis. I have seen a taxi driving up the wrong side of the road, a motorbike was coming from the other direction and had to swerve off the road to avoid a head-on with the taxi. They are extremely dangerous.
  3. The Blue Light Brigade sets the example for the rest of the populace to follow.
  4. Had a few roadies join us for a mtb ride this morning. Have to ask yourself if it`s worth it risking your life for your sport. I`ve been cycling since 1990. In 1999 I gave up road riding because of danger. But I still enjoy mtb more than ever.
  5. Its your duty to go check out these trails: http://www.hermanusadventures.co.za/trails.htm
  6. I love the Aspen as a rear but I fear the thin sidewalls so I chose the Ritchey Shield as my rear because it is Tubeless Ready and got a stronger sidewall I think. I have had no issues with the Ikon on the front, it is more than a year old now and still has some life left.
  7. The lightweight 2.1 Ritchey Shield is the best racing rear tire for my Anthem 29er. I normally use an Ikon Exo on the front, but the RacingRalph outrolls the Ikon very slightly, so I want to try it on the front as a race tire. Then Ikons give much more milage.
  8. For low rolling resistance: Racing Ralph Snakeskin front, Ritchey WCS Shield rear. For durability/training: Ikon Exo front and rear.
  9. The 29ers were ahead of you.
  10. It is because 20naainer riders don`t go on holiday to ride, we ride to the holiday spot through the mountains.
  11. But the bigger round kid will roll better in rough terrain.
  12. The 29ers are out of sight, safely inside the vehicle, because the honeymoon is never over.
  13. Get a mtb. I relax much better and have way more fun offroad. No pollution, no traffic danger.
  14. Go for BMC, the Cannondale site is too slow.
  15. Download this map: http://media.withtank.com/dd3afd4a04/jonkershoek_mtb_map_2012.pdf It`s called 12. Elliottii on the map.
  16. I would slot Kimi into 2nd place. Finishing 3rd in a Lotus, and taking a win in your comeback year is a great achievement. Alonso, Kimi, Hulkenburg and Vettel were the top drivers of 2012.

  18. Hope floating disc solved it for me on the rear (Avids with a turkey scream). I tried another solid type disc the other day on the rear instead of my Hope disc and I must have set the record for the loudest decent on a bicycle ever.
  19. Not all PPA events Not all PPA events require CSA membership license, but the big events do. And if you look at the calendar as an mtbiker, there now are many events not organised by PPA, but by Amarider and others, and what I`ve seen is that the norm is that they require CSA membership license. So the R75 annual license is a must for me.
  20. Don`t pay the R35 per race. Just get an annual license @ R75. In exactly 2.142857142857143 (75/35) races it pays for itself. Or else see it as R6,25 per month covering all events in that month, for 12 months.
  21. What is wrong with the fork? What seems to be the problem? What is like it was?
  22. They pick teams for World Champs. The wrong teams.

  24. I don`t have a problem paying R75 for an annual license to CSA. What I have a problem with is that PPA never reduced their fees after the CSA license started being excluded in their membership, I have a feeling they just upped their prices and hoped nobody will notice/complain about the CSA license exclusion.
  25. You don`t have to be a member of a club anymore. You can get your 2013 CSA license for only R75. I went to their site and paid via EFT. After this I just mailed them the proof of payment and asked to activate my license. A little hickup when my status said "Awaiting club confirmation", I just mailed them again and told them no club membership required anymore, and they set my license to active.
