  7. Okay so I advertised my Solis Magma road bike as I needed money. Posted it up for R10 000 and then went down to R6500 as it is urgent. A few guys told me "I'll take it". WHATEVER. Waited for them to pitch and all of them just never even replied again? WTF? Okay the one guy REALY wasted my time. Yesterday he had a look at the bike and was happy, beside the stickers. He told me to clean it and fit new blades on the cranks, the old blades were worn a bit. I REPLACED the blades and he wanted me to drop the price to R5500. I'm desperate for money. The frame has about maybe 2000km's on it and is almost spotless. The frame shines and is in a great condition. I fitted the new blades and dropped the price. The morning he brings his "buurman", who is an 'EXPERT' on road bikes. 1st the "buurman" goes on about the gatorskin tyres that the threads on the side are coming a bit loose, the bike has been standing for 2 - 3 years! He claims it's the RIM TAPE coming out while the wheel is inflated ... It's just the sidewall's threads that are a bit old. Then he says you need a new cluster, this is 9SPD. He says it will cost you R500 for 105 and this bike has ultegra on it and that will be even more for it. This is 9SPD, they go cheap cheap at some places. He then feels the bearings of the front and rear wheels (WITH THE SCEWER?! ), does not even touch the wheel and only holding on to 1 scewer and says, "It needs bearings". Ok he was pissing me off. He knows nothing about a bike, FUN RIDER. I mean the man takes the rear wheel out while it's on the top gear at the back! He went on with these STUPId comments, the BUYER then says, after saying yesterday that he will take it. I'm going to think about it The bike is full carbon, carbon headset, carbon spacers, carbon cranks (Hollow), every thing is almost carbon! For R5.5k it's cheap! So he sms's me 5 mins later, "I'm not taking it, enjoy your day." Urg guys like this one!!! Or was I wrong here?!

  11. Well... I have to say that SCOTT looks very nice, note that Felt frames are VERY stiff
  12. I have a Felt Fc, between the F1 and F2... Great bike! will never want to switch bikes! We have the Felt DA TT bike and then my brother is riding his F3 for thew 3rd year now, has to replace it due to getting a new sponsor frame (Look). Best bike I have ever ridden!
  13. What do you mean by that post?
  14. Still a hard race Hekpoort has a point where it just kicks up to a hard gradient and if you go to hard there... You will suffer till the top. Then there's a nice descend about all the way home with a thew rolling hills.
  15. What bunch do you ride in then? It's not nothing hey, you can pop on it when going up with a good bunch.
  16. Satellite is hard when racing it with the Elites But the Race for Victory was way harder...
  17. Nope just an Au Pair job 3 hours a day...
  18. No idea... Flat or hilly I'm going to have top form! It's from the 1st to the 4th March if I remember correctly...
  19. Well I am starting with my 22 week program tomorrow is going to get me a podium @ SA champs next year, it's a +- 12 000km program, peaking @ a high of 30hours a week later on in the program and my recovery weeks are 15 to 16.5 hours just on a LA Endurance ride (60% effort). SO I'd say NEVER take a week off, try reducing hours and intensity and just keep your legs going OH... I take off every monday, so that's 6 days of cycling a week.
  20. Also a great tire
  21. I would say Vredestein Fiammante Fold-ups, not too heavy and roll great! Only had 1 puncture in the last 7 weeks of base totaling @ 4500km's so they are great!
  22. Rather than using a straight percentage of your maximum HR for zones, the best way to calculate your HR zones is to take account of your resting HR as well as your maximum HR. The difference between these two figures is called the Working HR. Each training zone is a percentage of your Working HR, added to your Resting HR. For example: You have a resting HR of 50 bpm and a Maximum HR of 195 bpm Your coach told you do a training ride at 65% and you want to know what heart rate you should be keeping to. It's simple... Work out the working HR by taking your max HR and minus your resting HR from it. i.e. 195-50 = 145 bpm is your working HR Work out 65% of your working HR i.e. 145/100 = 1.45 * 65= 94 Now all you do is add your resting again. i.e. 94 + 50= 145 bpm So, your 65% HR zone is 145 bpm. Work out your 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%,90%, 95% and 100% and keep them stored. Hope that helps!
