I couldn't reach the starting line. Just before I got to the starting pens my gears broke. Struggled until 7:35 and still couldn't fixed it. Very disappointed I couldn't make the starting line. From now on I will do test ride when I arrive at the site and not on my way to the starting pens.

Hi I need to improve my climbing. Can anybody recommend some places in Gauteng\MPU where I can train?It would be nice if you can come along. Depends on where it is, accomodation might be needed as well. Suikerbosrand is one place but apparently they are only taking bookings until this weekend. Protea is waiting for another company to take them over.

HI They seeded me in VA but I don't want to finish last. So I got 2 options either drop back to BL or start in VA and see what happens. Is there anybody in VA with a seeding higher than 17? (You can pm me if you are shy) Thanks

So the later you start (later in groups) the bigger the groups.

The hubbers that did The Fast one in sub 3, what is your starting group for this race?

I wasn't going to enter but after a poor performance at Ride 4 Sight, I decided to enter. I last did this race in 2008. Can't remember much only that we started and finished at Carnival City and that the route was easier (shorter as well) than Ride 4 Sight. What is the time diff between your finishing time for the New Fast One time for the Carnival race?

Who won and do you know what the time was?

Great race and marshalls. The public and waterpoints was very supportive. My legs also went at 10km to go and unfortunately started the journey home. EL bunch caught DL group just before Heidelberg.

CWC has Look pedals on special. Fits into your price bracket. My Look pedals are about 3 years old. Look pedals are lighter than the 105 pedals.

I bought a pair of Spez S works shoes yesterday morning. I need these shoes for Ride 4 Sight. Thought I was going to call Rory to find out what my tracking number is when I get home. On my arrival my neighbour walks over with a package. Can't believe that my new shoes was here before 4:00. Great service Thanks guys

Thanks for all the feedback. I placed my order for the shoes. Lets hope they arrive so I can do a cleat setup and used them at Ride 4 Sight.

Hi I am in thinking of buying a new road shoe. Currently I have the SPECIALIZED SPORT ROAD SHOE but my feet get numb and if I loosen the straps it feels like my feet are going to fall out. The bottum of my feet is also sore after 2:30 hour ride. I have a limited budget of R1 500. How do you rate these shoes or are there alternative shoes I must look at. Thanks

Ride for sight is longer and you have the hill at Hofveldts. Both races is nice but Carnival is easier. So my advice is to do both, so you can judge for yourself.

I am not doing it for Argus. I have no attention of racing with the vets and come last.

My past 3 races I saw that my time is good enough to race with the vets. Thinking of getting an earlier start in the races.

Hi How do you join the racing vets? I know age is one. Do you apply for a racing lic and there you go or do you get an mail informing you that you must race with the vets? Thanks

I rode in D and have to say we passed some big groups in the first 37km. I was surprised that everyone managed to get past without any accidents (best of my knowledge) had to stop after 67km, second bottle was way to sweet and had to call for George for assistance. Joined a couple of riders (mostly CL numbers) and rode to the end. Started my sprint 300m - 400m before the finish and managed to get away. Some other riders had some close calls with oncoming traffic. Well marshaled and will be doing this race again next year.
