  10. Sorry MichaelH, only saw your message now, everything is on track. We have a meeting Friday morning to finalise logistics. JHB Metro has decided that this might be bigger than they first thought so are sending more vehicles. Both families will be there and Sybrandt's Son and Brother will be riding with us. I have had several messages from both families and there friends who are full of praise and thanks for what we are all doing. By the way both funerals were this afternoon. I must say it has a heart warming week for me, seeing a bunch of people who hardly know each other pull together to organise something as big as this at such short notice.

  13. Mazztazz please don't change things without asking first, we have already had confusion about the route. Why didn't you just p.m. me to ask first?
  14. So this is the plan of action for Saturday 27 January 2007 Meet at Panorama Shopping Centre on Klipriver road at 7am. We leave there at 7.30 a.m. and head south on Klipriver over Swartkoppies to <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Vereeniging Road. Turn right and just after the bridge we stop to place a wreath. Then we turn around back up Klipriver to Swartkoppies where we turn left. Along Swartkoppies to the site of the second incident near Impala Road where we stop again to place a wreath. From there back along Swartkoppies, left into Klipriver and back to Panorama (about 28km). We now have Metro approval (both JHB and Ekhuruleni) with escort, SAPS escorts, at least two back up vehicles and Paramedic response in attendance. Licences are not required but HELMETS ARE !!!

Uhm TNT1 it doesn't seem to work and the file is supposed to be an MP3
  16. Mine did that when the battery was getting low.
  17. I wouldn't trust someone from Somalia to take my bike anywhere . Edit: Ok fixed now.
  18. Me too, I had much better times than last years Argus. I have mailed them to ask why.
  19. The whole purpose is to create awareness, I have had calls from several media this morning who were not even aware that the two cyclists had been killed this weekend, they are now planning on covering the stories and will cover the ride this weekend. I have also had contact with the Guild of Motoring Journalists who are keen to explore ways of joint education of both Cyclists and Motorists. Sure we need to get our own house in order but neither of the guys killed this weekend was riding in the middle of the road and they certainly weren't flashing fingers at anyone.
  20. Click on Options in the menu, then Person Properties, then the Measurement Units Tab. You can change all default units there.
  21. Ok do we do it this week Saturday and also armbands for Sunday or wait till the week after?
  22. Cois, we are not going to sit back and accept it any longer. I was just thinking about it now I think we must do it soon but next weekend is too soon, we need more time to organise so I think 2 weeks from now might be a better idea.
  23. After that guy was kiled in Durban last year the guys down there organised a protest/memorial ride. I think they got alot of attention and raised awareness, maybe it's about time we did something similar, what about next Saturday? If not then seeing as the Hyper to Hyper goes almost down the same routes what about wearing black armbands but we have to get the press there and get coverage. This is getting ridiculous !!!
