  1. I am selling my Silverback Ventura at the moment if you are interested. You cannot beat silverback at value for money... PM me if you want more details
  2. Depends on training. You can accomplish a lot in 12 months... Is there any other results available through the year?
  3. I am looking at buying a new bike rack as I still have the Thule Express, which causes quite a lot of damage to the bikes as they are so close together. I am looking at the following: https://www.buycycle.co.za/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=2446 Does anybody have any experience with these racks?
  4. Isn't this idea very similar to Strava?
  5. Supposed to be yes. Jason at ballistic said he thinks water might have gone it through the usb connection point, so just always make sure that it is closed properly
  6. Got in on special for R27,999
  7. My first bicycle was the Silverback Ventura, and I have had no problems with it. Forget about the sticker on the bike and buy the best specked one.
  8. I had to return my 35 due to it getting wet. They replaced it with the 40 at a small fee, so I think the 35 might be discontinued.
  9. Thanks Tankman, Ya thats most likely what I would do. Just thought I can save a bit of money using the 9 speed
  10. anybody?
  11. I just bought myself a 29er with a 10 speed cassette. I have a 26" wheel with a 9 speed cassette which I use on my indoor trainer. Can I use this on my new bike or am I going to mess something up? I will obviously be careful with shifting etc not to take it to either the largest or smallest cog at the back.
  12. Going to pick this up a bit later this morning... http://www.cyclelab.com/Images/Products/1011.jpg
  13. have you given Westdene Cycles a call. They generally have a lot of stock so you might get lucky there
  14. This is such bad news!!! Hopefully they get picked up by other sponsors quickly!!!
  15. This is such bad news!!! Not that I was the biggest supporter of Team 360-life, but they inspired a lot of young MTB'ers in South-Africa... They should set an example with him. If we catch you doping, you will be banned for life and all titles will be stripped. All prize money should also be returned! Real K@K news for Kevin as well...
  16. I bought a pair of Lake shoes at three towers at a great price(marked down from R2999 to R799). Have ridden with them a couple of times now and have no complaints. They are very stiff with the carbon soles which takes a while getting used to but they are very comfortable. I have the same tightening system on my golf shoes(Footjoy Reelfit - uses the same BOA system) and they have been going for more than 3 years without a problem. At that price I doubt that you will find anything better. I also wear a size 10 and went for a size 45 in the Lakes...
  17. Damn you Tim!!! So bummed that I am missing the last one for the year
  18. Hot Spot Cycles in Pretoria has it listed for R19 900. Maybe give them a call and arange a deal? http://www.hotspotcycles.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=12
  19. I have to agree with you on this one svan. I play of a 3 handicap, and my golf has cost me a lot less in the past year than my MTB(less than half). And I have given both equal attention. The gear and general maintenance on a bicycle costs a lot more than playing golf...
  20. Yip, It is still at that price on the Cyclelab floor...
  21. Sorry for the hijack, but what do you guys think of this bike? http://www.cyclelab.com/products/TREK%20SUPERFLY%20100%20CARBON%20(2012).aspx Solomons is clearing it @ R27,999
  22. Ive set my max at 30k. Anything above that I will have to start earning an Income from cycling and that's not going to happen any time soon. I bought myself a Silverback Ventura last year May at R7000. At the time I thought that it is a lot of money but in the last year and a bit Ive come to realize that this is not a cheap sport. Will ride my silverback for the foreseeable future with all other living expenses sky rocketing...
  23. I have also dealt with David(Guy who does the BG Fit setup), and only had good experiences with him. Never bought a bike there or had it serviced there though...
  24. I had a pretty decent ride on Saturday in the 70km until we passed the church. Hit the wall on that second climb and suffered all the way to the finish. My back is still hurting after Saturday!!! Awesome route though and great organisation. For sure the toughest Nissan race by a country mile!!!
  25. Did you ride the Believe race this year? We basically started in the middle of a thunder storm and the organisers just announced that if you start its at your own risk... I Don't think they will cancel for bad weather
