  2. So my shoes decided to quit on me over the weekend. Got myself a pair of these:
  3. My wifes new Giant Anthem X 29er W came out with a 22/36 combo. She is loving it
  4. I bought my wife the Giant Anthem X 29er W about two weeks ago and she is loving it!!! Specs is very good, and it did not come in the girly colours... I got it for R20k, which is what a mens bike with similar specs will cost in anyway. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-za/bikes/model/anthem.x.29er.0.w/12779/59421/
  5. The climbs are not that technical, but they are relentless. You should be more worried with coming down from the towers than going up to them...
  6. Thats the Bontrager Evoke 2 with chromoly rails. I've got the same bike. I bought a spez phenom on my previous bike after I had myself measured, and I haven't ridden with anything else since. Ive still got the brand new bontrager one somewhere in my garage. Get yourself measured and go from there. You should be able to get a spez test saddle. It takes a while getting used to the spez saddle but once your backside has gotten used to it, you won't look back.
  7. I've bought a few things from other hubbers. A crank here, seat post there. But I will not buy an entire bike second hand. The problem comes in with the manufacturers guarantee for me. I'd rather buy new and have the peace of mind that if something happens, I will not have trouble with the manufacturer.
  8. I upgraded most of my drivetrain to SRAM X0. Only the chain and casette is XT... Next up is a new wheelset... Credit card just needs to recover from this first...
  9. HIJACK ON I've currently got the Bontrager Mustang wheelset which came standard with my Trek Superfly. I have been thinking about upgrading the wheelset but I cannot decide between the ZTR Crests on Hope Hubs or the American Classic standard wheelset(might consider the Race) I weigh 78kg's What will the best option be for me? HIJACK OFF
  10. I've also got the Spez Phenom 143, after trying out the Gobi before that. Must say the Spez is much more comfortable than the Gobi
  11. MTN insurance was actually the cheapest I could get on the iphone...
  12. You don't need to be scared of them. If you respect the sign-age they put up you'll be fine. They warn you well in advance if you need to take it slow!!!
  13. It was my first stage race last year and it was Awesome!!! Just do it
  14. It would be awesome to have wifi at the Sani2C. This year there was no signal whatsoever at the race villages. For the one day races I wont bother, as you generally finish your ride, have a beer and off you go. Might also be a good idea for the MTN National events running over a Saturday and Sunday. Especially for people going through on the Saturday to watch the Ultra and Marathon riders coming in.
  15. I've decided I want to take some weight of my 2012 Trek Superfly 100 Carbon: So far I have upgraded the seatpost and Handlebars. The big items that are still waiting until I have money is the wheelset and drivetrain.
  16. Not today though... One of the members needs to be from the 2013 event. You can switch that out once substitutions open though
  17. I did exactly the same and got team 93 on the adventure!!! some people are obviously blessed with quicker internet connection that ours. My wife entered about 15 minutes after I did and they are team 283
  18. mine took about 15 minutes, but paid and confirmed
