  1. Not a dumb question as it has been asked oft before .... The only reasonably logical reason I have seen is that when you have taken the wheels out the bike if you snap them forward you will have less chance of pulling them 'fully' with no rotor, thus preventing a trip to the price fixing LBS .........
  2. [quote=wackwack Where do we put in our orders? And do u deliver? Your local tuisnywerheid (SP?) and no
  3. They're not easy to come by but hey does this help :- Jungle Oats Biscuits<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> 2 cups tru-wheat flour (ordinary brown bread flour) 1 cup coconut 1 cup jungle oats ? cup brown sugar ? lb butter or margarine 1 teaspoon bicarb Rub in butter and knead dough. Roll ? inch thick and cut into rounds. Fork surface. Bake and cut into squares.
  4. I prefer gels in MTB XC races as they are quick to pop in. There isn't much time for chewing on a bar while keeping the bike under control! In longer races I alternate between gels and energy bars/bananas/jungle biscuits/fruit cake/water melon etc.
  5. You need to have words with them man! At Summit cycles in Midrand (thanks Ant) I got a cup without asking last week and Ivo even knew how many sugars ........... the words BIGben' date=' come to mind ... [/quote'] Always wondered why when I walk in all the other customers leave ....... in fact why do people cross the road when I walk ............. what's with that?

  8. Not sure have heard Universal Systeme Tjoopless and Ultimate Sidewall Technology depending I guess on the manufacturer but my take would be U Stoopid Tchjop perhaps, they know we pay more for stuff wiff lots of Acronyms on ..........
  9. GreatEggWhite sir did you not take note of my earlier posting of this vital information, am I posting for nought .......... Doesn't have to be that expensive to try it ....... https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=24545
  10. I see Stan-yes-tubes coming ..............
  11. When last were you in Just's shop ................. no Harley type thing there anymore as I recall ...........
  12. [quote=Delgado This was the machine that I learnt to ride a bicycle on!!! Albeit the grape coloured one!! Now there was a bike where you definitely wanted to go easy on the front brake, I still carry the scars of a split lip ........
  13. I ride a bike with 160 front and back as well one with a 160 rear and 180 front. I must say that for 'normal' XC type racing I don't notice any difference at all. Have done some pretty long downhill stuff on the brakes and not had any issues on either bike. Having said all of that I am not a big 'front braker' per se as I am maybe a bit to chicken to go over the bars. Do however use it to slow the bike down quickly before obstacles/corners. Once I'm in the technical stuff I am extremely careful of the front but don't mind klapping the rear brake when necessary. Must say that on my Julies (160/180) I do sometimes notice that my fingers get a bit 'stiff' through technical stuff ......... seems better on my Juicy 7's. Probably haven't helped much but that's my humble opinion
  14. Not the food!! Just the caviar they believe their cartel is entitled to!? Hey Dellboy, I know my LBS owner personally (very ....) and trust me there aint no caviar there mate ........ ! Don't deny that there are those riding Porche Cayene's and stuff though.
  15. IMHO I don't think that Hayden has adapted as well as some of the others to the new 'electronically' controlled machines (of which Ducati is a prime example ....). He is a spectacular rider to watch when on a bike that allows him to actually ride it, When you last you seen a MOTOGP bike smoking tyres through a corner unless the tyre is already falling apart? In fact even worse SBK is going the same way ...... Hope he proves me wrong of course since I am not a CS fan that's for sure ......
  16. That kid with the Rossi shirt on is on the money for this year ........... but can't believe that Ducati are taking Hayden for '09! Sorry for the eye-jack HR ........
  17. Any others see the guy at the FPC race Saturday with the singlespeed peace 29'r or something like that? Did the 60k unlike DR, Scotty and 'em who needed all 27 gears just to do 30 something k's ........... 29inch wheels, single speed and a rigid fork ...... he did look a bit of the hippy type (old style helmet, hairy legs .......)
  18. maybe a short back and sides? The only Bob on a FS bike should be the rider right (TNT?).
  19. Parra - he has a better fitting one (Met Stradivarius), dunno why he didn't take it ...... Great pics Lulu thanks! MichH was there and I missed her, damn!
  20. Hagar - I send you a Specialized sticker if you want, whatever you do don't take those Raleigh one's from DR. People will think the bikes from Game/Makro .......
  21. For anyone else that thought a 'quark' was the sound a sick duck makes, no it aint Any of a group of six elementary particles having electric charges of a magnitude one-third or two-thirds that of the electron, regarded as constituents of all hadrons It does say hadron and no I dunno what that is either
