  1. BG - Not sure if it was the "MTB'rs not girls" or the "arm warmwers" HR was concerned about
  2. Sjoe had I only known that before ! Would have had far more comments about those Titus'. Good to know that you at least have a bit of the best technology available to you

  5. Thanks Homer! Will continue my scientific testing but will have to keep the results to myself sorry!
  6. Will keep my 'anecdotal' comments to myself in future, in fact will not comment on anything for which I have no 'scientific' proof !!!!! In fact will keep my comments to my start time at races (yip it can be mostly verified on websites somewhere). Was going to reply to the thread about which side your petrol filler cap is on (I do have proof with photos that is different to that supposedly proven as normal) but of what use? To be questioned about your qualifications/scientifically proved facts? Nah okes, all yours!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy you techno 'experts' you!!!!!! Daemon - Off I go to the 'pink' saddle as you so eloquently put it!
  7. "I am Special" so I'm sure the Specialized is the better one to take!
  8. JB - Tore 2 sidewalls on non-tubeless tyres (both Maxxis crossmarks), have not yet torn a sidewall on a tubeless Maxxis!
  9. To add to the Captain's statements Had sidewall issues with non-tubeless and have moved to proper tubeless for that reason Love the Maxxis Crossmark LUSTS but they aint great in mud!
  10. HR - Why you want it back? You give it to someone I registered at FPC Brooklyn yesterday and got mine there!
  11. Hey AmorynS you going all soft getting an FS bike? Can't be
  12. You can pick up gatorskins at cajees for R 175 per tyre, problem with coloured tyres are that they are more puncture prone and does not last as long Easy Peasy!
  13. Lacking proper respect or seriousness

  16. 1 week down on the Phedra cut and I feel OK! Was a bit strange the first day or 2 but no side effects that I can see (maybe the question should be asked of my wife, kids and colleagues?).
  17. Found the same, didn't seem that bad those 1st 3 laps but the last 2 were rather slippery!
  18. On the other hand it's 'only' a Giant ................ OK OK I got my stuff and I'm on my way out!!!!!
  19. Spent an hour on Saturday afternoon washing all the goodies we had used / carried (bombs, unused gels, multi tools, sunglasses, helmets, camelback etc.) to get most of the mud out. Then spent another 2 hours yesterday afternoon washing the bikes properly (not just that quick squirt and go at the venue, that did help of course!), lubing, checking etc. Replaced Byron's brake pads and fitted new lock on grips, he likes the foam ones but they look tatty very quickly! My lovely wife (good words to use at a time when you come in carrying a ton of mud in your clothing bag!) managed to wash everything and even Byron's white Flatdogs shirt is snow white again!
  20. It would of course be possible that Jaco did 9 laps of which the last may not have counted depending on when it was started and ended but ja just a thought. BigBen2007-10-08 03:21:23
  21. LittleBen on the far right against the banner of that 'sharp end' of the race photo! Pity he lost a brake pad after about 4 hours but that's how it goes.
