  1. Assuming you did get a number and an attachment to fit it to your seatpost .... the number is the 'chip' to my understanding
  2. Looking for Fox 32 29' stantions, can be worn a bit ... helping a local kid anything would be better than what he has. The oil just oozes passed the dust wipers it's that bad ???? I'm in Alberton
  3. Riding 'lots' isn't necessarily a route to riding faster, in fact it probably rarely is, but if it's your passion and faster isn't your goal then there's lots to be gained from it ????
  4. I wonder if it's about a specific application where it's used whether it lasts or not? This particular one has been on this frame for many many years, stuck on with super glue. It's been through iterations as a normal 26" hardtail, single speed rigid for off road use, a gravel bike with 29" wheels and now finally a single speed rigid 'drop bar bike' I mostly ride on the road and it's still there ????
  5. I know I'm going to get flack for this but guys after all these years you know this is how registration will be ... until they change it is it worth getting miff about? What options are there, suck it up and do it or rather don't race?
  6. My son bought this rather sad looking Muna balance bike for my 2yr old granddaughter for a couple of bucks Clearly it needed to get some TLC and special treatment for a special little girl that's very precious to her grandad! Bought a few odds and ends, stripped it and sent the frame to my mate Big Thys. Serviced everything, sanded the spokes and hubs, seatpost and stem. A quick coat of rattle can. This is the final result ... They fetched it this evening, the look on her face ... Worth the effort that's for sure ????
  7. Or just keep away from them and ride alone ... Wouldn't be unusual for me ????
  8. *Gets the disc brake bike ready just in case*
  9. They never scanned the QR codes for entry to Steyn City, at least when I came in ... they did at the registration which I must say was very quick and efficient.
  10. Gonna print me one of those fork seal drivers ????
  11. As a matter of interest what material did you make the BB tools and mounts out of?
  12. Front derailleur covers, Shimano pedal service tool the useful and successful one's Garmin mounts tried a few different designs and materials but they haven't lasted ... the like 'top layer' where it turns into the quarter mount comes off Tried one of the chain quick link 'pliers' things but it isn't strong enough, will try another sometime Button for a Garmin 810 worked as well A cool thread, will be interesting to see what has been printed and if it was successful. Advice would also be welcome
  13. I think I've said it before ... I only look at the weather on the morning of the race and best to just look out the window IMHO
  14. Ever wondered if red is really faster? Some empirical evidence ????
  15. That's what happens when you start your ride after the kids have gone to school mate!
  16. The blue train ... ma se hare the wind is flippin relentless lately ????
  17. As a matter of interest are you using a road or MTB crank? I only ask because I have MTB front derailleurs on both my gravel bikes but I'm running MTB 2x cranks and have no problems with STI shifters
  18. I'll just leave this here ???? Removed all the cable stops, cleaned up where the front derailleur mount was all messed up, closed up all the holes (bottle cage, brake mounts). The decals are painted on not vinyl, pretty fiddly that and took some time, doubt I'll do it again but it looks cool ????
  19. The less said about today's ride the better as Frosty has alluded to ???? The loop through 'Suikers', as the cool kids call it, was the easy part ????
  20. As much as I sometimes get a bit sarcastic about the exchanges between chaps here on the hub there is a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the bike business and technology. That's one of the biggest things that keeps me here! Keep on keeping on chaps ????
  21. Gotta love summer rides on the Highveld ???? Luckily my skin is not as fragile as that limey @Pikey ????
