  1. Which in the current schedule is when bike shops can open ... Wonder how many will be paying their staff, bills etc. till then and be able to open?
  2. Just got this from an old triathlete mate of mine .... Scant hope for cyclists to get a small reprieve perhaps? In a letter to members of CSA, the Secretary General, Colin Simpkins, said their request had been denied by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) this morning in response to "our application for a relaxation in the level 4 restrictions, allowing us to return to the water in a limited capacity". The response by SAMSA was: "While Level 4 is implemented, we cannot allow this. Gyms are closed and although exercise is limited, the request from government is to limit this as much as possible – only walking, jogging and cycling is permitted within the surrounding area of your home”.
  3. I would assume the final one would be a closely guarded secret until Thursday when we are addressed as 'my fellow South Africans'? As best they can that is ... They wouldn't want us to be up in arms before the time, announce and make it law immediately I would imagine as with previous changes. Personally I've made peace with it probably not happening so if it does, in whatever form, it'll be a welcome surprise [emoji41] Thanks though for providing what you get and see!
  4. Very nice! I've made some progress ... My wife tells me to go and ride my bike because she says it calms me and I'm less miserable ... This afternoon she said you look bored go play your guitar, seems to have the same effect as your bike [emoji41]
  5. I treat Rouvy the same I do Strava ... With a pinch of salt! Rouvy to keep me entertained and Strava to keep an eye on my one mate whom I've been 'racing' for about 15 years ... Friendly competition and some good natured ribbing guaranteed!
  6. Not much to do around the house and my wife's starting to get irritated (ok more so than normal) with me so decided to give her a break and get away from her for as long as I can tomorrow ... Plan is to retreat to my bike room and start riding the IDT at 7am, ride as long as I can ... Sort of a 'big day in' but not as crazy as that lot? Downloading a few videos to watch and prepared a USB stick with music ... Planned 2 x a 160k Rouvy route to use. #KillTheBoredom
  7. Many of us understand exactly what you are saying but some may well be asking and eat what?
  8. I'll be ok then, unlike the cool kids I ride with a buff most of the time [emoji12]
  9. Your neighborhood is that busy during lockdown? If you really wanted to go out and ride you would .... Right now I'd ride whatever they let us as long as it's outside ... The way they talk though I'm not getting my hopes up. “The government is good at one thing. It knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, 'See if it weren't for the government, you wouldn't be able to walk.” Harry Brown

  11. That last paragraph and the last sentence just don't go together, practice what you preach ... Maybe it's just me?
  12. Maybe here in the South of Jozi/Alberhoughton things are not that bad then. Done a few Bicycle Messenger trips over the last few days, keep in mind they are all in the suburbs and generally the local shopping centres with Chemists/Grocery stores. Places where the locals go ... Not had a single issue, been stopped by the five-0, presented my permit, shot the breeze for a few minutes about life in general and sent on my way. Some interesting deliveries ... One guy said just throw the parcel as far over the fence as you can, I'll come out and get it later The most pleasant elderly lady who seemed to be in dire straights, just couldn't take the 25 bucks off her A family that invited me in for some 'juice' ... Thanked them but turned down the offer A chap that paid double the agreed rate 'you charge too little' he says All sorts out there I tell you ????
  13. I prefer pictures with the sun from behind the camera and keeping in mind the 'rule of thirds' ... You need to up your game [emoji12]
  14. By that token best no DIY, no cleaning, no cooking, no shaving/bathing/showering/lawn mowing and so on .... In fact lie on the couch eating snacks out of packets just in case of some kind of injury [emoji12]

  16. I run those on my training bikes no problem!
  17. Just some pictures from today's ride ... Man it felt good to be outside [emoji12]
  18. Whipped this up quickly ... Gatvol [emoji41]
  19. Besides having no idea about my numbers (or rather haven't bother to look) I'm doing pretty much the same ... If I can just keep going till I can ride outside again I'll be happy!
  20. Lesson learnt ... It is possible to be so bored that you'll fix a tubby even though you won't need it anytime soon!
  21. I've commented on that before ... Best to just ride and have fun if you can [emoji6]
