  1. @ridr sorted me out with a cable, even dropped it off! Champion
  2. My wife misplaced her Garmin Watch charging cable. Anyone in CT got a spare?
  3. Another up vote for ProBike Garage. Automatically syncs with Strava, multiple bikes in garage, customized components and subcomponents, with service intervals, notifications etc
  4. I'll just leave this thread hear in case
  5. Clean it, oil the chain, but don't bother servicing it. Rather service it when you get back. You going to have to replace the sealant after that time any way, and a fork lowers service will do it well after sitting idle to get lubricant in the right areas
  6. The problem isn't reseating the seal, it's taking them off without damaging the lip or deforming the steel ring in the seal. Be gentle. Been using Everon waterproof grease for many, many years. Currently running a cheap set of bearings from my local bearing suppliers in my frame, I re greased when I bought them. They are still running well after 3 seasons, the stock, full compliment bearing set only lasted 1.5 seasons. I am beyond surprise they still going.
  7. When you replace the next set of bearings, pop the seals open and pack some waterproof grease in there. I've found most bearings to have very poor or inconsistent lubrication.
  8. This guy does a full strip down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8UHWK5q4bU and the low tech WD40 version 🙈
  9. Couple discussions on this thread
  10. #bringbackthecomments
  11. Have you ordered one? Only thing that looks steel to me is the washer. Everywhere on the ad states Black Anodized Aluminum
  12. Made out of an Aluminium cheese, softer then Hollands best Gouda The whole thread idea was to replace with a steel bolts to do away with the aluminium
  13. Wouldn't go a far as the 1 star rating without proof. If you haven't done a transaction, then it's not fair to rate, just based on someone not wanting to use a service. If something doesn't feel right, avoid the transaction and flag with admin as you have done. I can imagine someone not wanting to use the pay service purely due to lack of knowledge. I was hesitant the first time and was a bit of a learning curve, but was pleasantly surprised and would use it again. Still nothing beats the old time meeting a Hubber in person and handing over the goods with cash
  14. Pair of Shimano M540, FREE to a good home. Cosmetics not great, but functionally smooth and perfect
  15. One of those Trances recently had a glow up and is still a regular visitor to Tokai in CT. PS thanks for those brake bits. They arrived and I'll fit them as soon as I'm back in country
  16. Those things are terrible. See if someone can turn a solid tube for you and a couple spacers. My dad turned a couple from brass when we used to ride Giant Trance 26ers
  17. Got a couple lying in my spares box if anyone needs
  18. Yes this ia what was recommended in the manuals, at least up to the 2017 model, and what I run in my lowers. Not as critical as the suspension fluid in the damper unit. I'm actually using Castrol Magnatec which is equivalent to 0W-30
  19. Order a universal bleed kit from Temu for R150. I'm very happy with mine, the syringes are great. You may get away with switching hoses without a bleed if you are careful. Can be done with Shimano.
  20. I'd go for something higher up the product line on the second hand market. Silver is entry level and you could save on weight, performance and longevity on something like a Revelation, or Pike even a 35 Gold along with a whole bunch of other options from other manufacturers including DVO Mazzochi or something like a SID if you are more cross country inclined.
  21. Have you done the balance bike thing already?
  22. I got screwed for the first time on a BikeHub purchase and have landed up with a set of Shimano brakes where one of the levers is bent and the plastic insert they run on are incorrect 🤦‍♂️ Does any one have a spare from a damaged set, even if its just the plastic inserts as Shimano does not do spares. Pic is of the correct part off the good side. Levers are MT-501 and M6000, multiple different series parts would be compatible.
  23. If you don't come right and have the TA end caps, you might be able to get one of those adaptor tube inserts that turn TA to QR
  24. Service should sort it no problem. Air is likely getting past the seal into the negative air chamber. @droo with Stoke suspension works in CT or RBC in PE are also options. Price will depend on cost of service kit. Keep up you service intervals and it will save you in the long term.
