  1. Would have to look at the spec etc, but I see a medium frame one in the classifieds at the moment for R25k and its been up for 3 weeks already. Fairly decent spec too
  2. Any recommendations for women's cycling pants or bibs? Which brand should I look out for?
  3. If I recall something along the lines, you have to purchase an item in order to give a valid review?
  4. Slick are not necessarily but highly advised, they do make a huge difference. But if your aim is just too finish and you aren't worried about time, effort and don't want to spend the money, its definitely not a necessity. As for bike fit, have you got something you are concerned about? How long have you been riding or on that bike for?
  5. Chat to the specialist or at least drop his rooms an email. Don't trust the collective for medical advise Most specialists won't remove the plate, only if it's actually giving issues. In your case you might have issues. My plate is still in +6 years later. No issues with swelling etc. Can actually make out where the plate is. Still some strange sensations if you touch the area.
  6. The shipping is basically the reason I use Temu, it gets here, every time, cheap and quick. AliExpress and a bunch of others have better products and variety a lot of the time, but it became to unpredictable, until most vendors stopped sending to SA, loosing too much from non and late delivery and having to refund with buyers protection. There was a time when SAPO worked great, but that's long gone.
  7. Don't stress, it will arrive
  8. Whatapp and Email with pay link is standard ops these days, not a scam. If you weren't expecting a parcel, then that would be another story.
  9. This and also if you taking a tire off, to press the tire in to the centre channel and start levering at the valve side. If seating press it into the centre opposite the valve and work back towards the valve This allows the bead to drop into the lowest point of the channel without interference of the valve. Small difference, but enough to make the job a breeze or cause a fight to the death. Another vote for the Green Crowbars! I've got a couple floating around, they don't flex, don't break and don't scratch rims. They cheap too
  10. Going to try a fresh install of Chrome on my laptop and see what it does. I did notice the VPN block, I often use Proton VPN on Android/ Chrome mobile when out of country and need to turn it off before accessing BikeHub
  11. Anyone else had issues with Chrome on MacOS? Last couple months homepage starts to load then fails to this "Ah, Snap!" before it loads completely. Tried clearing site data and cookies etc with no luck. Mobile is fine and so is Safari
  12. Ride the bike that side so it's not new then pack it up and bring it home. Had a probably 6 people with bikes when I flew from London to CPT last year, most of them in bike bags, mine in a box that I got from the LBS, none of us got stopped, but nothing looked new. If you do get stopped, bike parts is vat only while complete bikes are duties around 15% then VAT of 15% on top of that new total.
  13. Saw some for ODI branded grips over the weekend the I reported. ODI don't stamp their name on their grips.
  14. Thanks, I'll do that. Been to the usual suspects in CT, strangely Bridge cycles didn't have anything
  15. Looking for a flat spoke for my Shimano RS10 rear road bike wheel. The usual proprietary spoke problem with road wheels. (RS20 fine too)
  16. Why did you only replace 6 of the pivot bearings? If you going to replace one, replace them all, usually 10 or 11 of them.
  17. Keep an eye on the classified and marketplace. I picked up a Thule front seat from just under R1k. Got a no name brand one for the rear, but it's not great to be honest, the metal spring bars are bending with time and often the seat will now hit the wheel on bumps or curbs. I haven't had issues reaching the controls on my bike, but then I do have fairly wide bars. You do have to deflect your knees a bit when pedalling which is not ideal, but got used to it.
  18. Go for a front mount bucket seat, they can relax and don't have to hold themselves up, being up front, they are part of the ride. My first started on ours at 12-13 months my second was hardly 11 months! I now have one the front and the other on the back with 16 months between them. The back one flexes a bit much and I've started the older one on my MacRide in the full sus
  19. Check chain ring is greased and torqued correctly too This is a rabbit hole, prepare yourself
  20. If the bike shop can't do it, find an engineering works, good mechanics shop or often there is someone who offers a mobile service for inserts and helicoils. In the city there are loads of guys doing a mobile thread repair service.
  21. Chat to the bike shop, they might throw in a tubeless conversion? Get the bike that you can ride to meets its capabilities, not land up wanting something more in 6 months time. What is the suspension and brakes spec on the versions you looking at?
  22. What ever you land up fitting, I highly recommend very carefully popping the lip seals and packing with some waterproof grease. Most bike shops will carry or be able to order in a range of Enduro, full complement bearings. They are not cheap, but your only real option for full complement. I've bought cheap, standard bearings from R&V bearings in CPT on a couple of occasions. In fact the last set is still going after 4 seasons, but I regreased them before install. The stock and Enduro bearings in the past only lasted 2 seasons. As mentioned, when in doubt, chat with Drop at Stoke, the other bunch to chat with is Knipe Racing
  23. Just use some car motor oil if you have nothing else. A little goes a long way. Probably enough drops left at the bottom of a bottle of oil someone has chucked in the bin a the petrol station! Straighten the frame hanger at the bike shop, then use a shifting spanner to sort bent derailleur. If its still not working, then consider a cheap replacement derailleur. As Droo said, 7 speed is fairly forgiving

  25. There is a company in CT, will try find the name, that make custom poly bushings and elastomers. They might be able to make a mold and new ones for you. They made cush dampers for my F800GS motorbike from poly, can also provide different density.
