  1. There used to be a small sports/ bike shop in the same road as the OK, they would be able to help
  2. In the mean time Ride Concepts are on sale at Get Stoked for R600. Can't loose. I do still love my old 5.10 Impacts
  3. Spot on, thanks Barry. Should have checked Richie from the start. I'll order from him if I can't get locally for from a Huber
  4. Anyone got a Tiagra badge for a leftt hand front shiter? circa 2018 I think
  5. Just buy a used dropper off marketplace. It will pay off when you need to service it and can't get parts. You can pick up a Lyne for R1000-1500 if you are patient. I'll have a a couple freshly serviced Rockshox Reverbs available soon for R1500 Don't get me wrong I buy a fair bit from Temu, but something like that, nope.
  6. New looks at the Lyne or Rapide options locally, otherwise check the classifieds for the same thing or a bunch of other options. Lyne carries spares locally
  7. Q20 or WD40 normally sorts out those STI's.... lots of it
  8. Rapide rims can go either way. I destroyed my rear in 2 months while the front is still going a number or years later. Then again I know people who have destroyed Lyne rims in just a couple rides. Guess rims are very user dependant.
  9. Is the spare cassette new? Did you adjust your derailleur settings after swapping cassettes? Derailleurs can be a dark art sometimes Other thing to check, that is often overlooked is straightness of the derailleur hanger.
  10. Other option is Rapide Cycles. Can't go wrong with either of their cockpit combos
  11. How many KM on the cassette? If it was past worn on your gauge, the cassette is possibly past the point of you can swap a new chain. Put the old chain on and ride it till it's dead, then go new chain, cassette and ring. If you swap chains, it should be done before it indicates past worn on the gauge. You cant visually check for wear on a cassette or ring... not accurately at least. When you can see it, its well worn
  12. Don't see why a mountain bike chain won't work on 10 speed group. But with a change of chain it would be worth checking derailleur setup and B set screw. The other big thing... how old is the cassette and chainring? It could just be a little too worn to take a new chain. This I suspect could be where your problem lies.
  13. I'm itching for a 3D resin printer, particularly for model making. Saw a couple test prints, and it's seriously impressive!
  14. New chain ring up front, then maybe find a cheap second hand 10 speed derailleur and shifter and put an 11-42T or 11-46T cassette on the rear. You will struggle to find a 9 speed cassette with the a big enough range and then the gaps between cogs will likely be too large
  15. It's not touching.... I'd ride it
  16. Have a friend in need of a Shimano XT, rear hub axle, Non-boost, 12mm through axle Hub. His hub axle snapped, Shimano doesn't have parts, and his budget is very limited. Other options if anyone has an affordable complete rear wheel or just a hub 29in - Non boost - 12mm through axle - Shimano HG drive - 32H (in case of hub only)
  17. Some solid features there for a home machine. PID and pressure gauge as standard, both feature would go well on a Silvia or Gaggia. Larger boiler too is good as well as a thermoblock for steam, which is where the Gaggia could perform better. Looks solid. Give it a go and let us know....
  18. Or go for the Gaggia with a Rocky grinder. Fair number of similar combos on the second hand market
  19. Sorry you had to go through this and loose your bike too. This is the exact hot spot that flares up every 2-3 years. Normally a couple incidences, then they increase patrols and security, that goes away, everyone forgets and goes back to normal, only for it to flare up again in the exact same spot. Unfortunately it's a blind corner, with short burst up hill, and an escape for the perps down to hospital bend
  20. Pick'nPay sells their home brand Sunsure SPF50 I'm a ginger... this is the only thing I use. Whether I'm cycle or kite surfing, doesn't run into the eyes, isn't oily and I can spend 2 hrs plus on the water without reapplying. Bonus is it's cheaper then most others and even comes in a 450ml bottle 😂
  21. Looks like cable actuated discs brakes as stock, and 3x8 which is pretty bomb proof. A good service should have you up and running again. If you want an upgrade after that, maybe look for some hydraulic disc brakes, even Shimano MT200 series and a 1x10 conversion. Shimano makes an affordable 11-46T cassette in 10 speed.
  22. What year? Maybe post a couple pics
  23. Lekker, drop me a Pm an we can make plans
  24. Small frame road bike and fork, not sure on exactly how small, as nothing is marked on the frame. Collection in CT Southern Suburbs. Also have a vintage aluminium bonded Bridgestone frame in a medium size. Will take pics when the last of my bits are off. Just needs a helicoil for the hanger
