  1. It's actually not bad and he said neg. The bike market is crazy at the moment. Sold a hard tail Trek 26" for R4500 a couple weeks back with no issues!
  2. Yip, being carbon is not a way to guage a purchase or even a good bike. Actually over rated most of the time. I'd probably go Aluminium every time, but that's personal preference. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/522345/m-scott-spark-60-dual-sus-26er Chat to Robert, bit closer to you and I'm sure he can hook you up with something
  3. Us CT folk also need one
  4. If you worried about being scammed, used the BikeHub Pay option. Though to be honest, that seems like quite a bit of money for an older 26" bike, not that 26" or the bike is an issue.
  5. Do you have the tool required? Would be very intrigued to see what difference it could make to my Pike
  6. Had the retaining ring for my x1 Race Face crank work itself loose once causing a similar creak.
  7. Sale is for the Sale is for the 500ml spray bottle + free 500ml flip top bottle for R35. My Midas had run out of stock of the free 500ml bottle, so gave it a skip.
  8. I'm looking for a 10spd with 11-42 or 46T. My wife is swearing at the 11-40T. Otherwise a 28T four bolt NW shimano front ring
  9. Got to make a turn at Midas later any way, maybe I'll pick up a bottle. I usually have a 5L bottle of Prepsol around for degreasing purposes. Amazing stuff but not very friendly on Matt paint surfaces in the long run. Works wonders on my motorbike.
  10. PicknPay has a home brand they that's called "Sun Sure" I've been using the 50 spf for the last couple years and its amazing. Not super oily, waterproof and doesn't run into the eyes when you sweat either. Use it for everything from riding to kite surfing. Comes in different sizes, I just buy the monster 450ml pump bottle which is cheap at about R250. Oh did I mention, I'm a ginger so its GINGER APPROVED â„¢
  11. I've had an Icetoolz pair for years. Such an under rated tool in the box, just buy one, makes things so much easier, even if you only use it a couple times a year. The fishing one you posted is like many of the bike version. Though the hardware store version will work. Home mechanic doesn't need a Parktool version, though I would very much like one.
  12. Tekro uses the same shape as the Shimano Deore range. Cheapest I found was Bike Addict, bought a couple sets for the cupboard. https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/brakes/products/shimano-br-mt61-resin-brake-pads-spring
  13. Droo has, got a bunch from him last time I needed.
  14. Sure I've got some that will work for a commute bike in storage. I'll go check in the week. I stay in Bergvliet
  15. Second for iRide Africa
  16. Sounds like the question is more what kind of bike you want and what kind of riding you want to do 100 to 130mm are likely design for different kinda riding. The 32 is still good at 100mm, anything over 120mm and the 32 gets a bit noodle like and you want the extra stiffness. If you a recreational rider go for the comfort and geometry that 130mm will likely give you. Maybe tell us what bikes you considering where your ride.
  17. Contact Pyga directly, they normally pretty good with support.
  18. If you can find a set of Giant OEM 26" wheels, they can be had cheap, not the lightest but are indestructible and a lot of them came out with 15mm Thru axle up front and QR rear. If you in CT and need a hand and tools building, drop me a PM.
  19. Also watching... Got a cheaper Shimano stamped 203mm (metallic compatible) rotor up front I want to replace, as I feel its letting down the braking performance.
  20. Sorry for your loss. Which Rockshox did you have up front? Pic shows Fox suspension.
  21. I don't have one of those unfortunately, but you will definitely pick one up at a bolt and fastener supplier. In the Cape we have the likes of Bolt Fast, Top Fast, Bolt it. You may just need to grind down the thread length a little if you can't find 8mm
  22. I had a couple I brought in from the East, but as mentioned, they didn't last long. The idea is great though. Cable ties and also made a couple metal p-clip tabs that screw under the bottle cage bolts is what I did in the end
  23. Do you have a pic of the bolt? Got a couple bust up shifters here that might have what you after?
  24. Made a couple things, most things that take force don't last, clamps etc, the layers delaminate. Some of the useful things I have made and use often are the Shimano hollowtech tool and a fork seal driver.
