  1. In exchange for some beer money... Looking for a 650b front disc wheel with 15mm thru axle hub (old non boost), otherwise 26" wheel, or even just a hub if I can't find a complete wheel. Want to build up a hardtail tail frame so I can mount a seat and ride with my little one. Got pretty much everything else. Ideal will be mullet 650b on the front
  2. Stem length also seems to be a consideration, the iBert front seat apparently lacks clearance with a stem under 70mm. Rear mount is defiantly kinder on the bike, but not as ideal for the kid
  3. Thanks for the advise so far. Toying with the idea of building up a hardtail 26" (Flowta has a nice AM Ragley frame in the classifieds) got all the other components to get it rolling any way, then I'll have something to mount a bucket type rear mount seat on till she's old enough for something like the Mac seat. @Iwan Kemp I'll drop you a PM
  4. Want to start looking into a ride along seat for my little one, just passing 9 months but my wife thinks she's be about ready in the next couple months. For those with experience, what would you recommend, top tube mount foam seats, rear mounted bucket? Something that would fit my full sus would be ideal... then again, N+1 Somewhere at my folks place is a trailer unit my dad brought from the states many moons ago, top quality but think it uses a QR and I don't have a compatible frame. Seating area also a bit big and cant take along a greenbelt
  5. I might have one, let me check and get back to you. Drop me a PM Fox?
  6. On my last claim, when Discovery called to tell me the outcome, I just asked them to pay me out cash, the agent put through the payment to my account straight away, no questions asked.
  7. Bought a bottomless portafilter for my Gaggia from them. Had great service. Doesn't come with a basket, but they found a triple basket in there storeroom and threw it in for me. Drop them a mail.
  8. Anyone have a 24 Hole MTB rim to exchange for some beer? Got given a set of SRAM Roam 40 wheels, but the rear rim is completely toast
  9. As long as wipers and internal surfaces are in good condition, I replace all seals with generic and both upper and lower bushings with IGUS composite bushings. Been servicing them for a couple local bike shops and mates with out of warranty units. The IGUS bushings are great and don't delaminate. Been charging R550
  10. Not in Guateng but drop me a PM if you don't come right or you on a budget
  11. 3D print clamps just delaminate and crack the moment any torque is applied. Tried some shifter adapters, didn't even get to go on a ride before they went.
  12. Found a Bryton Rider 330 on my local trail in the South. Let me know where you lost yours and hopefully we get it to its owner
  13. I'm still a fan of the Reverb, but helps that I can service them DIY for next to nothing. Keep up with the service intervals and like most things, will last for ages
  14. Get in touch with Dayle at Lyne, ask him when they getting stock again. They are super helpful, even when I asked about a no name post someone gave me to service, looked a lot like theirs. Turned out their 27.2mm service kit was 100% compatible and walked out with all the parts I needed.
  15. Check the cable tension first, very simple to do, then come back to us
  16. That's post has been used to resurrect another one already. I service Reverbs with IGUS bushings and new seal regularly. Have some odd parts here and there, but not the whole post at the moment
  17. You looking for the whole post or just parts for the Reverb??
  18. Pizza cutter or I'm not taking it!
  19. Chat with a broker, got mine added to my Discovery household and vehicle cover scheme as a standalone item for a specified value. Was quite affordable. Actually got them to tweak the scheme and get a couple discounts applied and walked out paying less even with the bike added.
  20. If you going to try flats, make sure they are decent flat pedals, not the stock bear traps that came with a bike, a decent pair of dedicated flat shoes would be ideal, but some skate shoes will get you going initially, but will wear out fast. If you transitioning for clipless, you will hate flats for the first couple rides, your feet will come off, but keep at it for a good 10 rides before you give up. I went flats to try improve my technique years ago and just never went back. Things like jumping and riding rock lines, you learn to use your suspension instead of just pulling up with your cleats. Efficiency wise, you will loose minimal performance, especially if you are not a podium winner. I've done Wine2Whales on flats no issues. Specialized 2Fo shoes are great and locally available, 5.10's are brilliant if you can find them and stick like s*@t to a decent set of pedals. Don't waste your time with clipless pedals converted to flats, they will be a compromise and you will not get the performance you want.
  21. Saved a couple cans of Q20 like this
  22. If you want to sell something at a profit, don't try sell a Totem. They are serious budget bikes to start with and there is a reason we call them Makro bike That hanger in the pic doesn't have a thread on it to attach the derailleur, so won't work
  23. Yip, send photos, factory said it was rider fault
  24. Replaced my rims a while back with Rapide 30mm ID rims, the front is holding up ok still but the rear lasted 2 months before being completed destroyed, rim bead folded in on itself with no major evidence of a big hit, so tossed it and replaced with a Spank. School fees paid.
