  1. I use an 80wt synthetic gear oil in my Fox RP2 and on the upper dust wiper seals of my F125RL. Should be able to get it form Midas?
  2. Sounds like you got some work done! Was working again as usual, but have the first weekend off next month so if we build Jan I'll be there.
  3. That video has been sped up in a lot of sections. For the rest.... Long live 26"!
  4. Bought a light pair on Hi-tecs with Vibram soles and they stick like crazy to my flats. Really happy with them R699 from Cape union mart, though they do have neon yellow which aren't foreveryone. Shimano flat shoes also use Vibram.
  5. Had a look at those Saints a while back at a LBS, they look awesome and are quite little. On my wish list for one day, just out my budget for now.
  6. These barrels extend out over the yellow line and are on a blind corner. Was actually wondering the same thing the other day, more along the lines of what if a car hit it like I almost did the first time! No chevrons or warning before, I feel it is unsafe and you should have a case.
  7. So snapped a pic with my cell this morning. Hopefully I get a bit closer and have a better camera next time... Can see the snakes taking shape and the land slides across switchbacks.
  8. Wish I could. Seat is normally occupied by someone forking out a couple grand to my boss!
  9. Planning on getting some aerial pics of the trail together sometime. Easier said then done when you don't have enough hands.
  10. Flew past Tokai yesterday and Switchbacks is completely wiped out. Going to take a lot to bring it back to its previous glory. Actually amazing seeing the number of land slides around the Peninsula at the moment. Still waiting for a day off so I can rip up the new Boomslang. Looking good from my office view par avion.
  11. Don't rule out the Trance, that pedals like no other and climbs like s mountain goat! I've got the old 26 inch and it's awesome. Don't judge a bike by wheel size, just make sure the frame size is right.
  12. Helicopter blade tape is awesome if u can get it! I have normally got pieces from my engineers, but you can order it per metre on eBay. Vinyl is to thin and wears through quickly with cable rub. You better off with some good electrical insolation tape.
  13. Guys HOUT BAY STATION DOES NOT HAVE ANY STOLEN BIKES. Went in after work this evening and the officers said I must be the 10th person to come through and ask. Seems tweetland had let us down. Apparently there was a phone number on the original message? Thanks any way, was worth a try.
  14. I'll go look when u go home this evening. Hopefully one of them is mine!
  15. Yep, have a 2011 Trance X2 and I'll never get rid of it. Those new 650b's look awesome, but you play a pretty penny for hype! Put an alert on Gumtree, and an eye on the classifies. They come along every now and then.
  16. Anyone who owns a 26er Trance or Reign knows better then to sell it!
  17. Definitely a syndicate running in the area. Would love to know where all stolen bikes go to rest... I'll be keeping a lookout, seeing I'm already on the lookout for my bike that was nicked on Sunday out my car at Kirstenbosch
  18. Unfortunately I won't be making it on Saturday, starting the new job and all. Will buzz you guys if I get half the chance.
  19. Hi All Just to make people aware, I parked at the top gate at Kirstenbosch, near the Klaasens Dr turn off yesterday afternoon, and had a road bike stolen out of the boot. Part of the seat was down so they broke a window opened the door and pulled the stuff through. They didn't touch the kite surfing gear that was there, or the Ipod in the front door! just the bike! Bike is a '05-'06? Giant OCR zero. Very neat bike, matt black with silver and red trim. Ultegra group, Truvativ crank, carbon fork and seat/ chain stay. Identical to the one in the pic below. Even worse is its a friends bike they lent me for training! Keep an eye out please. I'll be checking the usual Neil's wheels and Cash converters in Wynberg. Otherwise I'm now in the market for a cheap Giant OCR or Raleigh RC3000/ 6000.
  20. Also gave the new Cobra a go yesterday while the dream team was at work on the entrance. What an epic ride! Finally it has some good flow. Top work guys. Getting me even more excited for what is to come with Boomslang!
  21. The maestro system on my Trance is so effective I hardly bother with the pro pedal, even on they way up. Though with it on it does improve the climbing a bit but sacrifices a little traction. I'm in love with that bike. It has improved my riding, and climbs like a home sick Angel.
  22. Damn this is right by my place! Though you won't catch me dead out there on that road section, alone at that time!
  23. Thought the same, but look closer the chain breaker has a nut on the end that matches the socket on the tire lever amd not an allen key
  24. I much prefer the ride position and gearing of a mtb. If you use a mtb it might be worth your while getting some slicks, it makes a big difference on the road. I've used Continental Sport Contacts 26x1.3 and love them. Hey I might even ride the Argus on a mtb again, will certainly do some training on it.
